Sage was, admittedly, pretty much just as much of a mess as Mari was. He wasn't in as much physical pain, that was obvious, but it was definitely awful to hear her screaming and crying and not being able to do anything about it. He couldn't help her ....and it went on like that for a while. He just got more and more worked up, and he felt the world swirl around him when Mari passed out. It was a good thing he was sitting down, because he probably would have collapsed otherwise. He turned a terrified gaze to the doctor, who pretty much just shoved him to the side so he could do what he needed to do. So, he sort of just sat there, panting, and trying to get calm enough to figure out what was going on. He wasn't doing a very good job of it though. The doctor had passed the baby on to a maid, or someone working on the ward. So he didn't even know if the baby was alright or not. And it was definitely terrifying. He needed something to try and calm himself down, but he could even stand up or ask what was going on. If Mari was going to be alright, if the baby was alright.

The girl must have been passed out for a fairly long while... she didn't know if the baby was alright if it was healthy... if it was a boy or a girl... she couldn't see its little face. She couldn't hear it anymore... she couldn't hold it or... well, anything. She couldn't see Sage, either. Hear any comforting words, or feel her hand in his. And she wanted to be awake... so be there in a moment. To see her newborn and her fiance together for the first time. But god, it felt so good just to rest... it was maybe about midday the following day when she finally come around... but it was slow, and she was well... alone. And she was in so, so much pain... her stomach hurt like hell, and her whole body just felt weak. She was weak. She opened her eyes, but she couldn't really move. She couldn't see her baby... and she was panicking, and her emotions got the better of her and her eyes welled with tears quite quickly again. She tried to speak, but her throat was just so dry, and barely a squeak came out.

Sage hadn't really done much while Mari was asleep. He'd sort of just sat in the corner and waited. The doctor had come in after a while and reassured him the baby was fine, and he'd said Mari would be fine too,but it was hard to believe him when the girl was pale and still in the cot. Though, when he heard her squeak, he scurried over to her and practically cradled her up into a large but gentle hug, more than relieved to see her awake. He leaned back and wiped the tears off her face, cradling her,breathing shaky with relief. "It's good to see you awake," he murmured, leaning over to press a kiss to her forehead. "Water?"

Mari felt the boy pick her up into a cradle, though it didn't exactly stop tears from falling. She felt so awful for being gone... was he worried? Because she'd been worried about him... she wanted to wrap her arms around him and bury herself away in his chest, where it was warm and safe. She could only nod when he asked if she wanted water... but she didn't want to let him go. She was almost scared to talk... she was scared that if she asked questions she'd get an answer she didn't want to hear. When he gave her a cup, she gently sipped on it, only moving the tiniest of bits to sit up, but even that hurt like hell. "Is..." she trailed off a little bit before looking over to the boy, her bottom lip curled as she tried to keep herself calm. "Is the baby alright?" she whispered to him, paling a little bit as she thought about the worst.

Sage hummed lightly and kissed the girl in the cheek before helping her sit up and handing her a glass of water she could drink out of. He nodded again and sat down on the edge of the bed next to her. "The doctor said the baby's fine. He's been caring for it while I stayed here with you," he whispered, still just really ever so grateful that Mari and the baby were both alright. "Don't worry, everythings alright," he hummed. "I can't tell you much about the baby though...once you passed out I kind of freaked and couldn't leave you in here alone," he admitted, running his thumb over the top of the girls hand.

Mari felt her whole body relax when he pressed a kiss to her cheek... his every touch just seemed to comfort her. She just wanted him close to her... because she'd felt too far away for too long. "I want to see it," she murmured quietly before looking back to the boy, still looking like she was on the brink of tears. "Can I please see it," she whispered to him, looking down at his hand as it ran over hers. She tried to lean forwards to peck his cheek, but she found that it just hurt to move. "Thank you for staying with me," she whispered after a moment, really grateful that he'd stayed by her side.

Sage nodded and tried for a small smile, though he probably didn't do very well, considering he was just trying not to just collapse onto the girl and sob his eyes out. He'd just been so worried, and Mari seemed alright but still not great, but he was still just so relieved shed woken back up. "I'll go ask the doctor," he hummed. He made a move to get up, though, the doctor came into the room carrying a bundle of blankets. "I heard you talking and figured you want to meet your new family member," he hummed, placing the bundle in Maris arms and pressing a kiss to the top of her head in a fatherly manner. "You did good, kiddo," he hummed before slipping back out. Sage hadn't seen his child yet either, and couldn't help but just stare at the peaceful little bundle his fiancee now held in her arms.

Mari whipped her head around to the doctor when he came in, her eyes glued to the little bundle of blankets as he placed it in her arms. When he pecked the top of her head, she smiled softly to the doctor, watching him wander out before staring down at the bundle, gently cradling it in her arms. She carefully moved some of them away from the child's face, only to reveal the most gorgeous blue eyes of the baby boy... they had dark brown flecks in them, and she was sure they'd go an amber just the same as Sages were in a few weeks... god she hoped so. And he had the most adorable button nose and already had the tiniest bit of dark hair. She held the child close to her, her eyes welling with tears once more... in a happier way this time. He was so small... so fragile, just the way she thought he'd be... he seemed to curl into her warmth, which just made her smile. "He's perfect," she whispered before looking to Sage, her eyes glazed over the more she thought about how gorgeous their child was... how much she already loved the little fellow.

Sage felt his own breath hitch when he saw the little ones face. He was surprised to see how much the boy took after him in terms of looks. Though, he could see Mari in his sweet little face too. He felt his eyes filling up with tears, though he blinked them away as best he could....he wanted to see his child, not a blurry image. He could only nod when Mari said the boy was perfect...he really was. Sage had loved Att like his own, but it seemed like nothing now, when he had his own child right in front of him. "What do you want to name him," he eventually hummed, not taking his eyes of the lad as he whispered the question. He couldn't wait to show him off...to Anya, and he had no doubt Mari's family would love the baby when they saw him, too. But for now, he was just enjoying being there with Mari and the baby. He sort of wriggled onto the bed after a moment, so he could hold both of them. He didn't want to take the baby away from Mari, and he was still so relieved she was alright...well, holding them both seemed like the best idea as of right then.

Mari shook her head a little bit and went to rest her head on his shoulder when he went to hold the both of them... she didn't know what to call him. She couldn't think about it... all she could think was how much this little person meant to her. She watched him curl into her a bit more, just the way Sage would. He was so perfect... her baby... their baby. "I don't know," she whispered her chin wobbling, and soon tears started to roll... there were just so many feelings going through her, and it was almost... scary. The more she looked at the baby boy, the more she saw Sage in him... and the more that thought made her want to cry. She loved both of them so much. She looked to the man next to her and went to press a light kiss to his lips. "I love you," she whispered to Sage, a smile across her cheeks despite her tears. "I love you so much," she repeated with a sniffle, holding the baby a little bit closer to her.
