Sage was a bit worried that Max might not get pregnant again, but Roxie had ended up checking her over...fixing her up...so he assumed she'd be fine. If there was something wrong, he'd know through the link the collar brought. He had to admit, that was one thing he didn't mind about the collar.

In the weeks that followed Maxine was fairly normal so if she was... it didn't show... aside from being a little extra tired there was hardly anything to suggest her even being pregnant... for now she poured her heart and soul into her daughter, her husband and her art. Now that her little art room was finished she quite happily spent time in there when she was working on a project or just needed to take a break. Right now she needed to do both so she worked on her latest commission while Charlie napped and Sage relaxed for a while a gentle hand on her middle hoping for some kind of sign. She was quiet for a few seconds before she finally heard the sound she'd been longing to hear... it wasn't Sage's that was for sure but there was definitely another heartbeat in the room with her... she heard it so clearly among the quiet of her art room "Sage!" she squeaked happily.

Sage hadn't questioned the girl about being pregnant or not over the few weeks they'd spent at home. And he'd almost forgotten about it if he was being completely honest...he'd been busy. The house was finished by then, and it was almost double the sizabit was this time last year. He heard Mac squeak happily and he jogged over to poke his head over into her art room. "What's up," he hummed. She looked happy ..but then again she was always happy in there. Unless she was mad or annoyed something wasn't going right. But mostly she was happy.

Max smiled and went and took Sage by the wrists bringing him into the art room with her "Close your eyes and tell me what you hear." She cooed knowing he'd hear the extra heartbeat... though she was unsure if he'd pick it up super quickly because of her own heartrate which felt as if it were going 90 miles an hour.

Sage gave Max a rather confused look as she dragged him into her little art nook, though he allowed her to drag him around anyway. "Ok," he hummed, still rather confused but she was obviously excited about something. He heard a lot of things...animals outside, charlie breathing lightly in her crib, Max's own heart and....another, smaller one. His eyes flew open at the realization, a grin spitting his face as he practically lept at his wife, wrapping his arms around her happily.

Max smiled at him waiting to see his response. When he finally realized what was going on she couldn't help but laugh "Careful!" She yelped happily hugging him.

Sage giggled happily and buried his head int he crook of Max's neck. "I know," he hummed happily, glad that she was as excited about this as he was. They'd waited a while, and now they had a whole nine months to wait..."9 months has never seemed longer," he half whined, but he was too happy to really be upset by anything. "When are you telling dad," he asked curiously.

Max laughed happily and hugged him "I know..." She admitted softly "But I'd rather wait then have it sped up again..." She admitted wrapping her arms around his neck and looking up at him "Soon..." She cooed "I only just heard the heartbeat." She chuckled.

Sage chuckled lightly and nodded. "I would like everything to go well this time," he admitted in a rather amused tone. He nodded in response to the girl's comment and gave her a wide grin. "I figured as much. Usually you shoo me out of your little hide away, not drag me into it," he teased the girl lightly.

"You and me both." she giggled giving him a kiss "True true..." she admitted a light blush on her cheeks "Sorry..." she blushed "But at least you know when I really need or want something from you... especially when i'm in here." she teased.
