Sage huffed out a breath and held the boy up so he coulr look him in the face for a second before propping him on his hip and grabbing the paper that Att had chewed up. He didn't exactly like cleaning, but that was gross, and it was a hazard for the boy, especially if he could crawl out of his crib whenever he so pleased. "Little man has something," he grumbled, though of course, he wasn't really all that annoyed with the boy, he'd just been a bit worried to find a mystery object in the lad's mouth. Once he'd picked up the little bit that Att had messed up that could be a hazard, he wandered back over to flop down on the couch next to Anya. He flopped down on his back, with his head resting on the girl's leg, and Att just kind of bounced around on his chest.

Anya hummed in response, playing with the boy as he messed around on Sage's chest. "He was probably bored," she murmured before glancing down at Sage with a sweet smile. "Maybe you should play with him a little... you know, entertain him?" She mused lightly before gently running her hands through his hair. Sage was good with the boy, he was, but there was a point where you had to do more than eat and sleep, even if you were a baby. Atticus was going to be a character when he got older... probably a bit like Sage was. She was admittedly a little upset that she'd never get to watch the child grow up but wherever he ended up, she knew he'd have a good life... surrounded by people who'd care about him. "Or we could just set him free into the gardens, but I don't think you'd ever get him back," she chuckled lightly.

Sage chuckled at Anya's comment. "I'll play with him if he lets me sleep through the night," he joked. He'd play with the boy, but he only has so much energy when he was up all night to feed the boy. He let out another laugh at her comment about releasing him in the gardens, shaking his head slightly, though not so much as to deter the girl from playing with his hair...he liked that. "I've already stabbed some trees down there so he'd be ing good company," he joked, amused by his little temper tantrum back then. "We might stay out there, what would you do if I never came back inside," he teased the girl, tilting his head back slightly to look up at her mischeviously.

Anya chuckled softly at his comment before shaking her head, "if you never came back inside?" She asked with an amused giggle as she pouted. "Well, I'd have to leave you out there because god knows there'd nothing I could say to you to make you want to come back in. With time, the two of you would. Become the wild men if the gardens," she chuckled lightly before pecking him on the cheek. "But, I'd also have to go and find myself another tavern boy and a whole other baby to look after. I quite like the way things are now," she hummed as she gently poked Atticus in the belly, which made the baby erupt with giggles.

Sage chuckled and patted the baby, who was still very cheerful on his chest. "Wild men of the gardens, huh? Sounds good to me," he chuckled. "Whaddya think Atty? Wanna go be wild men in the gardens," he asked the baby in a goofy voice, wiggling his fingers like pretending to be a monster. Att reputed into giggled again, reaching forward to grab Sage's fingers and crawl up almost to his neck and flopping down with a sort of garbled form of 'wild' coming from the baby. Sage wrapped his arms around him and looked up at Anya, pure delight written on his face. So maybe he'd never have a real family, never be able to raise a child of his own. But he'd had those moments with Anya and Att...and they were good. He'd never forget these things...they were a sort of hint at what he longed for, and he supposed that was better than nothing.

Anya chuckled at Atticus's attempt at the word, a content smile spreading across her face as she watched Sage's expressions light up. "I'd say that was a yes," she said in an exaggeratedly excited tone. Despite her reluctance towards children as a whole, Att was one she could stand... he was sweet and playful, and most of all he made Sage so... happy. He seemed so overjoyed with the boy, and it had barely been twenty-four hours. Her heart ached at the thought of it all coming to an end... while they were here, like this, it almost seemed like they were like one little family. She'd never get this with Luther. She'd never love him the way she did Sage, and someday, when they did have their little family, it'd just never be the same. She'd love any child she had, of course, she would, but life would just be so different to the way it was now, and she didn't think that was a good thing. Soon Att would find his home, Sage would leave again, and things would all go back to the way they were before. That thought did sadden her a bit, but it just meant that she'd have to treasure the time she did have with them both just a bit more.

Sage chuckled and wrapped his arms around the boy, tilting his head up to press a raspberry to the boy's cheek, resulting in another squeal of laughter and flapping arms and legs. Gosh, he loved this kid. He was so...happy. Innocent, even. He'd been in a tough situation already, and yet had already seemed to have forgotten about it. He'd never be in another situation like that, and Sage was glad he could help someone. He still felt like he hadn't dome enough to help Lizzie, but Att was so similar...and he supposed he'd helped Charlotte as well, though the girl had helped him too. "I think he'll be a fun kid," he murmured. "Whoever gets him is going to be very lucky." He did wish he could bring the boy with him, but it just wouldn't be fair to the boy. If he brought him back to the slums with him, it would be killing him, and he couldn't do that to the lad. He deserved a better life than what he could give him. Maybe it was a good thing he would never have a family...he was a pretty sorry excuse for a provider.

Anya chuckled softly before nodding at him in agreement. "He's gonna be a handful," she hummed as she gently ran her finger up the child's back in a tickling fashion. This got another small snicker from the boy before he settled down on Sage's chest again. "If they can ever figure out how in the world they're gonna get him to chill out," she added lightly before tilting her head back against the couch, more than content with... well, everything. Atticus was a playful kid, with all the squealing and crawling around, and she just hoped that wherever he ended up wouldn't drill that out of him. He was sweet the way he was. He was the kind of kid that needed to run around and cause trouble, really just be a kid. She watched Sage play around with the boy for a few minutes, a small smile resting on her face as she did so. After a little while, she sighed and gently patted Sage on the head after looking out the window, only to see the sun had started to set. "I'm going to get some food then get showered, I think," she murmured absentmindedly. "You coming or staying here?"

Sage chuckled and nodded. "We'll find a place for him where he can safely screw around." He looked over at the boy fondly. "He's gotta mess around to chill out, they'll figure that out." He gave the girl a grin at her absentminded murmur. "He's falling asleep again...I'll feed him and then go with you," he told the girl. It would be nice to screw around themselves for a bit, he supposed...maybe after he could bring Att to go bother Luther for a bit or something. He did have the fleeting thought that he kind of owed the doctor...a lot, so maybe he could help with some of the stuff that wasn't exactly medical-related in the ward. Carry stuff around or whatever. But, he wasn't sure if the man wanted him there. Whatever, he could always ask. That would be later though...right now he had to feed the baby and then go mess around with Anya.

Anya hummed thoughtfully before gently patting Sage's head and quietly asking him to move so she could get up, "Well, I suppose you could put him in the nursery. There's nothing really there for him to break or eat or whatever. I suppose he could try and destroy everything, but it's not likely to work," she chuckled lightly. "He's going to wreak havoc when he learns to walk, so you do need to find somewhere to put him, especially if he's already crawling out of his crib," she murmured with a chuckle as she wandered over to wait by the door. She wasn't exactly starving or anything, but she was just a bit hungry, though it still seemed early.
