"Alright," the king says as the guard they would be fighting gives him a nod, "which of you volunteers to go first?" Mal watched as one of the stronger looking canidates steps forward, noting how overly confident he looked. "Alright, the rest of you come up and find a seat," his father says, gesturing to the empty benches around them. Mal watches as the rest of the group comes up and sits down as the guard and the canidate get ready to fight.

[Camron rolls his eyes as an overly confident candidate goes first.

"Show off." He sighed. Camron walked over and took a seat and watched. The candidate looked strong but was clearly too confident. There were still a few candidates who were clearly strong but definitely were not so overly confident that they'd win so easily.

Camron watched as the first trial went on. He did wonder is the overly confident person would win, they seemed strong.]

The two competitors chose their weapons. Seeing that guards have to be able to use any weapon the fights were to be done with padded armor and fencing swords. The king called out a countdown and once he reached zero the fight began. Mal leaned forward and watched as the overly confident canidate leaped forward towards the guard. The guard easily dodged the attack and brought his sword against the competitors. After a few moments the guard easily caught the canidate off guard and swiped his sword away and put his blade close the the canidate's neck, signaling that the canidate had loss.

[Camron snickered to himself as the sight of an over confident person lost brought him a minor joy. He wondered who would go next after the candidate's defeat. Camron looked around taking guesses on the few over confident candidates. He assumed they would just go first until it was down to the more calm and humble candidates. He spotted two of the over confident candidates joking and making fun of the one who lost in quiet tones. Camron turned away not wanting to pay mins to them.]

"Seeing that you have lost you have been taken out of the contest," the king says as the canidate nods and leaves, a defeated look on his face, "who shall go next?" Mal looked over as another confident canidate steps forward and hops down to get suited up for the challenge. He looked over and saw a few other canidates muttering something and saw the other confident canidate lean forward with a smirk. -Why are so many of them confident- he thought -do they not realize that they are going against the lead guard here?-

[Camron rolled his eyes leaning back slightly. They didn't seem to realize that it would be a lot harder to take down a guard like that. Camron glanced at the candidates next to him who were clearly thinking of a plan. It made him glad to know that the group around him wasn't all a fail. The sound of the candidates behind him muttering and laughing bugged him, they seemed to think it would be so easy to win.

Camron glanced around before resting his eyes on the arena.]

As time went by canidate after canidate was defeated by the guard. Soon the canidates were slowly volunteering to fight and those that were slower to fight actually passed, even though it was barely. Mal looked over and saw only two canidates remaining, the winner sitting on the other side of the arena and congratulating one another. -Atleast there is some hope for these guys- Mal thought, noticing that the guard was getting slightly tired.

[Camron sat with his arms crossed. It was down to him and another. He kept his head down as stress began to kick in knowing he would be going soon.

Camron watched the guard, they were definitely getting tired from all the candidates. He watched as the guy next to him got up and ready to challenge leaving him alone. Camron just once more kept his head down wishing the guy the best.]

He watched as the second to last canidate went down to fight before settling his gaze on the last one in the stands. -Is he scared- he thought -or is he thinking of a plan to defeat the guard?- He turned his head as he heard the fight begin and watch as the new canidate moved swiftly around the guard, dodging all of his attacks. After the guard was worn out some more the canidate swiftly knocked away his sword and declared victory. Mal noted in his mind that this man might be a good choice, but there was still the last canidate to go. -Maybe he will put on a good show or something, seeing that the guard is worn out- he thought, laying his head on his hand.

[Camron stood and got ready as the other candidate finished.

"it's not a fair fight if the other guard is warm out." He mumbled as he walked out.

As he walked out the guard stood ready. The match began and Cameron quickly dodged the first hit and swung at a vulnerable spot that the guard had left open. He kept dodging most hits the guard tried before he hit the guard once more and brought the (forgot what's it called-) to his neck.]
