Andi kept an eye on the door as another nurse came into the room to get her settled back into bed. Of course the nurse tried asking her a million question and she was hearing them but just not understanding a word the nurse was saying to her. Her mind was on Tyler as a million different thoughts and scenarios came into mind like what if he goes into a coma, what if the pain is so extreme his muscles lock up on him forever, just random worse case scenarios kept playing through her head. The worst one was what if Tyler never woke back up... That thought sent her into a full blown breakdown, the nurse that was still settling her back into bed was trying her best to get Andi to calm down but it just wasn't happening. Anytime she tried to speak it'd just come out a a blubbering, stuttering mess of words. After what seemed like a long time Andi finally got settled back into the bed, Jasper curled up right beside her cause thankfully the nurse didn't want to take him away... Probably in fear it would send Andi into another breakdown but still thankful she hadn't taken him away.

Every 10 minutes that passed by felt like hours to Andi, she still only had Tyler on her mind as that question still lingered in her head about losing him. She thought about al their fun memories together from the time they first met back in her apartment, to the times she had to stitch him up since he was so accident prone, and to when it would just be the two of them doing nothing but goofing around, teasing and mocking each other. Those were all the good times and she didn't want that to be taken away from her just yet. Then after what seemed like 4 hours (in reality it was only about 2 hours) a nurse came in to check on her vitals. "Hey sweetie, how are you doing?" The nurse asked while making her way over to the machines in the room. "Fine.... Is he okay? any updates with him yet?" She asked queitly, being hopeful that he was awake. The nurse took a long moment to answer as she was focused before looking back at her "Sorry, yes we have an update. He's awake now and seems to be stable at the moment" The nurse answered while making her way to change the IV fluid. Andi straightened up at the update, a sharp pain shotting through her abdomen as she did. "Can I go see him?" She asked... Well it sounded more like a demand. "No, you need your rest as well as him." The nurse said simply while starting to make her way out of the room, Andi sank back in bed letting out a long sigh and looking up at the ceiling. She knew she was going to go see Tyler whether the nurses liked it or not.

The lights were so bright... they filled his whole vision and blinded him. Closing his eyes, Tyler almost slipped off into sleep again before a younger nurse came in. "Oh, you're awake. That's good. How are you feeling?" she asked with a soft voice, checking a notepad. Tyler didn't answer at first, his gaze flitting around the room in slight fear. Where exactly was he? How did he get here? He wasnt supposed to be here... because he was an angel he couldn't go to a hospital. Then, realization hit him. He tried to sit up with a gasp of pain, making the nurse quickly rush over and gently push him back down. "You cant move yet. Your body is extremely damaged- you wont be able to move for a long, long time." She stated firmly, causing his brain to spiral into what ifs. Finally, Tyler managed to try and croak something out. "I-is A-andi okay? I-I want to s-see her." He muscled the words out, trying to push himself up again and failing. His whole body seemed to be shut down- nothing happened when he tried to move. He couldn't feel his arms or his legs. For that matter, he couldn't feel his torso either. "W-why am I all n-numb. What Is w-wrong with me?" He asked sharply, his voice raising slightly with the pain of speaking and the sheer terror behind his words. Why couldn't he move? Would he be able to soon? Was this temporary? Would he ever be able to move again?

Andi laid in bed plotting for her big plan to get out of the room and over to wherever Tyler's room was. Of course it would hurt like hell to get up and walk over there but that would be the best option and she didn't mind hurting it it meant she could see that he was actually okay for herself. After a long while Andi finally got a plan figured out as she started to pick at a few sticky attachments on her chest and peeling them off so that it wasn't monitoring her heart anymore. Quickly the monitor flatlined and a nurse came rushing there, "Sorry they peeled off" She said giving the nurse a small sorrowful look "Oh don't worry it happens" The nurse said as she came over to try and apply new ones. Andi smiled and watched for a second before continuing with her plan "So where is Tyler at? What room did y'all put him in?" She asked politely hoping the nurse would just answer her simply which the luck was in her odd as the nurse did. "Oh just down the hall on the right. Luckily we had an available room and...." The nurse continued to chat away as she finished wiping the left over glue off Andi "Okay sweetheart I'll be right back with the new patche to put this monitor on" The nurse said while leaving the room. Andi nodded with a smile as the nurse left the room before sitting up to get started with her plan. Now that there was nothing besides a IV hooked up to her she could finally make her way out of the room. Andi carefully shifted to the edge of the bed with winces along the way of pain. She stood up and grabbed onto the stick cart that was carrying her IV bags. Suddenly a huge rush of pain started to shot through her abdomen as she used her one good arm to balance herself from the pain. Andi gritted her teeth and grumbled as she began to walk out of her room and making her way down thr hallway. As she made her way down the hallway she looked at every room to the right trying to find him when suddenly she heard a stern voice from behind. "Ms. Smithfield! What are you doing out of bed?! You are going to get yourself hurt?!" The nurse exclaimed as she rushed down the hall to her, Andi simply just ignored her and kept on walking as she continued her mission to find Tyler

The nurse looked sympathetic. "Sir, you are very seriously Injured. To me it looks like you wallowed through hell and fought with the devil, but that isn't possible. I have no idea how you got so many mortal danger wounds, but you do, and almost all of the staff are rather curious about what happened, and who you are. You dont show up in any database, you've never had any hospital help. Ever. In your lifetime. Anyway, to answer your question, you will not be able to move for a very, very long time. When your body figures out how to heal, however, I believe that long time wont be forever... so be thankful for that." She explained very curtly. Tyler's breathing quickened and his pulse went up with all that she said. Now he had to make up an entire believable story about who he was!? And an actually believable story about how he got hurt? "I need... to r-rest... " he finally mumbled, which was the best thing he could think up to make the nurse leave. She did, so he got ready to think, but stayed still. "Darn it... A-Andi..." he muttered his eyes flicking out to the door. Letting out a quiet, shuddering groan, Tyler looked at all of the equipment around him and attached to him. As a boy he had never gone to a hospital, because his mother just treated any wounds at home.... except for that one time. When he broke his back? But that hospital had. Burned down a long time ago and all the records had been lost. Plus it wouldn't bode well for him if they found it from over a hundred years ago and saw him looking 23. Tyler saw the heart machine start making more jabs and beating faster as he woke up a little more, trying to think. After a second he decided no more thinking; it hurt his brain. He just needed to see Andi. How to do that, however, would be the hard thing... because he literally and physically couldn't move. His limbs were not responding to his commands. Staring at the ceiling, Tyler did happen to see a button for a nurse. With regret building already, he pressed it. A middle aged nurse quickly came in. "What's wrong?" She asked. "Is there a c-chance I could be l-lifted up a l-little? S-so I am s-sitting up?" He inquired. The horse looked at him skeptically. "This is gonna hurt." She finally answered drily, pressing a button to raise the backrest of the bed. Immediately, pain shot through him, but it was a minor peock compared to the pain he had been in earlier. Tyler grit his teeth and closed his eyes, but it was over quickly. "You're a tough one." She commented with a smile. Tyler let out something close to a snort. "I-is there a-any way I c-can see Andi?" He asked firmly. "No, you and her both need to rest." The nurse answered. "I d-do not care a-about rest! I want to s-see her. How i-is she doing? I-is she okay?" Tyler almost snapped, the heartbeat monitor again pricking as the annoying beeping got faster.

Andi trudged along the hospital hallway, every inch of her body now was starting to scream at her almost as if her body was on fire but she didn't stop, she couldn't stop until she got to Tyler. The nurse that had called out to her finally got to her, a worried and frustrated look plastered onto the short woman's face. "Ms. Smithfield you need to go back to your room and rest." Andi gave her a blank but harsh glare as she tried to move past her but was unsuccessfully as she tripped up on her feet which felt like they had weights tied onto them. The nurse thankfully caught her and helped her stand up but Andi quickly pushed the lady away. "I don't need rest. I need to see Tyler" She stated firmly through her raspy tone then continued to limp on forward. The nurse finally let out a frustrated huff "You need rest and he needs to rest too. You can see him after you are ready to walk. If you keep this up you are going to hurt yourself more than you already have." The lady huffed out trying to get in front of Andi once more but Andi continued to ignore the lady. "I don't care how much I get hurt... I want to see that he is okay... I can't bare the thought of losing him and right now that's all I need is him... And if you still want me to go back to bed then you will have to drag me back" Andi spoke choked up slightly at she spoke with a low, soft tone. The nurse just shook her head and mumbled a few words about her being stubborn but quickly came up beside Andi grabbing her arm amd wrapping it over her shoulder to help her walk. Which was easy as they both were the same height of the nurse was any taller than walking like this would feel like hell. "Thank you..." Andi spoke quietly as they continued on which soon they were joined by Jasper who had woken up from his sleep and was walking beside him. After a few rooms had passed the nurse finally spoke "The room is right here" the nurse pointed over to the up coming room and quickly Jasper picked up the pace trotting ahead into the room. Soon Andi along with the nurse came trudging into the room and instantly as Andi and Tyler locked eyes... His deep blue eyes looked dull and pained as she stared in them for a moment longer before breaking down into tears. The nurse placed her into the chair that was beside the bed. Andi had no clue why she was crying, maybe it was from seeing him in the hospital, or the way her body felt like it was on fire, or the realization of everything that had happened finally settled in... She didn't know but whatever it was was coming out in tears.

Andi didn't even know that the nurses had left, her brain was crowded as the fearful questions were still filling her head and seeing Tyler just look so pained finally tore her down. She couldn't help but just feel horrible seeing how damaged he looked.. Then she heard his voice, for that moment it drowned out all the other ones that filled her head as she looked up and over at him, tears still flooding down her face silently. As he started to speak again her mind slowly started to unfog, everything seemed more still and collected in her mind but hearing how hoarse he sounded and how he struggled to speak was something she wished she would of never had to hear. "I-I-I just... wanted... n-no needed to s-see you..." Andi managed to answer him through her hics of sobbing just ignoring all his questions of her being okay. At the moment she wasn't, her whole body was still screaming at her, her stomach throbbed and her chest felt heavy as it was a struggle to breath but at that time she couldn't have cared less about herself. At Tyler's next question she looked over at him, finally starting to wipe her tears that seemed like a never ending stream. "I-I don't know w-what can help..." She admitted quietly as she let out a shakey breath and immeasurably winced at the sharp pain that followed jabbing in her side. Tyler was right, all the crying was doing her no good, so Andi took a deep breath in slowly and began to settle down.... That didn't last very long as soon enough Tyler had gone quiet and her mind starting to slowly work up again. Would he truly be okay? Would he make a full recovery? Would things still stay the same? What if now that he was human he didn't want to hang around her anymore?... The thoughts just kept piling up when suddenly they came to a halt once more. She turned her head back, keeping her eyes on Tyler. As he spoke her mind went back to being at ease it was almost like he was reading her mind and answering the question that had just piled up. He knew exactly what to say... He always seemed to know what she needed to hear... Then he said three words... Three simple little words that suddenly meant the world to her. Andi smiled slightly at him reaching her one working arm over and gently placing it her hand next to his, in fear of touching him and hurting him. She was at a loss of words, she was finally speechless for the first time in her life "Thank you.... I-I needed to hear that.. a-and I love you too, Tyler... I a-also p-promise to be here for y-you.. E-even if I'm hurting o-or anything I w-will always be here for you no m-matter what..." She finally spoke softly

Tyler felt like his heart was sinking into the core of the earth as he looked at Andi's tear streaked face. He made the effort to move his hand an inch to the left and weakly squeezed hers. He could feel some energy and feeling coming back, very slowly, but he knew he wouldn't be normal for a long time-like the nurse said. "E-everything will be okay, A-Andi." He repeated in a quiet mumble, taking in a shallow, shuddering breath and wincing as the heart monitor quickened its annoying beeping. Everything hurt and the world seemed foggy, but he didn't care. "Y-you know y-you are the reason I-I'm still here. All I c-could think of was y-you and that's what gave m-me the strength to s-struggle through." Tyler whispered, smiling faintly, even though his deep blue eyes were filled with misery and agony. "I k-know you will. I know." He murmured quietly, closing his eyes a moment to relieve the swimming nausea. Memories still haunted him from the time he was ,... disattatched. Voices he used to know cried out, telling him to come into the black world, telling him to give up. Voices told him he wasnt good enough. That no one wanted him to keep living. That he should just give up and die. People he failed to save reached out and screeched agony, moaning about how he failed to save them and he should pay. How it wasnt fair they were dead but he was still living. They said he deserved to die with them. All this swirled before his closed eyes and his heart rate monitor steadily rose until Tyler let out a quick breath and opened his eyes again. Now instead of just pain, there was a haunted look in his deep eyes, going much farther down than the agony. A mental scar, so deep that it seemed it would never disappear. His breathing was quicker now, almost even shallower if that was possible, and a little more ragged. No pain or torture ever scared Tyler. Formerly, the only thing that ever actually scared him was the thought Andi might get hurt. But now? He felt cheer and utter terror that he would have to relive his worst moments every night while he slept, that he would have to listen to the tortured voices calling out to him, that he would have to battle through the sinking feeling that.... maybe he wasn't good enough. Maybe he didn't deserve to live. This scared him.

Andi shifted her gaze to their hands as she felt Tyler give it a light squeeze which in response she returned a gentle squeeze as well. She kept her gaze on his hand as he spoke weakly, that's all she needed to keep hearing from him was that it was all going to be okay. As long as Tyler was saying that she knew it was true... It had to be true... When the heart monitor began to quicken she shifted her gaze quickly to it then over to Tyler seeing the same pained and broken look on his face become stronger only tore her heart. It didn't last as long though seeing the faint smile come onto his lips from what he said, even if the smile was faint she still was happy to see it. "I-I'm glad that I w-was able to help you through that t-then" Andi whispered quietly back to him, her thumb gently brushing against his hand as she shifted in the chair to be able to look at him more. Everything finally felt calm in her mind, there was no sirens blaring or questions tugging in her mind. All she had to focus on was Tyler and that's all she wanted to focus on at the moment. Andi let out a content sigh as she let herself completely be at ease, just savoring the moment as long as she could before the nurses tried to take her back. That didn't last long though as she heard the heart montior begin to rise at a steady rate. She opened her eyes in time to see Tyler's eyes open up seeing that the pained look was now replaced by a look of pure terror... Andi watched him for a second longer before finally speaking up "Tyler... Are you okay?" She whispered to him softly, her voice full of worry.

Tyler could tell it was almost more pain for Andi to sit there and believe it would be okay than it was for him to lay there and try and be strong, so he just tried harder, pushing through the darkness creeping in. "Y-you help me through e-everything, Andi. You're a l-livesaver. Literally." Tyler joked, smiling as strongly he could, smiling through the pain. She seemed calmer now, but a question had started bugging him. So ... he was actually human? He couldn't read her mind, that was for sure, but then again he hadn't since ... well, almost since they met. He couldn't feel her emotions anymore, even though he was still attentive to changes in her demeanor. He couldn't calm her down, other than telling her it'd be okay. It seemed he had lost all connection with her. Suddenly something flew into his mind... if he wasnt an angel did that mean they stole his wings? +no no no no+ he thought, trying to see if they would come out. They didn't. He let out a slow sigh. His wings were the things that helped him connect with the sky... they were important. VERY important to him. To have them stolen was horrible. After the memories had flooded in and he looked somewhat haunted, the world had gone silent and all he could hear was a ringing in his ears. Then, Andi, urgently looking at him and mouthing something brought him back to reality. "H-huh? Oh-oh I'm... fine. " Tyler stuttered a little, trying to shake off the visions of past people.... but he couldn't. "It's just..." he paused. "I most likely j-just got a bad c-concussion due to my b-bad landings." He mumbled instead, not even knowing what he was seeing was about. Could the angels somehow be shoving these things into his brain? Or, even more likely... had his trip to the in between where he saw all that have sparked old memories he buried long, long ago? Tyler was no psychologist, but he knew that when a brain experiences trauma it will bury the experiences deep in the subconscious as to protect itself. Everything he was seeing that scared him was stuff from the past, mistakes he had made, things he had failed at, and people that had died. Maybe everything was resurfacing... and as Tyler recalled, a lot of educated people said that it was very common to go insane after experiencing lots of trauma, burying it, even remembering it. Now that he was human, that was entirely possible, and it just scared him even more. The fact that he might go insane, leaving Andi without really leaving her? But, one thing gave him hope. Maybe, just maybe, Andi could be his lifeline to reality. When his brain pummeled him with horrible things that had happened he could always remember he had her.
