Abby sighed. She would probably be super shy and unwelcoming this year but by the end realize she could open up. But by then it would be too late for her. But then next year... Maybe next year I'll have friends. Good friends, not like the ones back home... Her mind drifted to her horse again. She smiled, thinking of the Arabian with a burning temper. Abby opened her phone and scrolled through pictures until she found the one that she took on the day she got her horse - HER horse. It was still hard to imagine. Three days after her father said she could never get a horse of her own, they were bringing Desert Rose to her new home. Abby put on her headphones, wondering how Rose was faring on the drive. She turned on her favorite music - and fell asleep.

Qibli listened to that for a little while before it switched to heavy metal. Fine with him. He kept staring out the window, though his gaze was dazed. His first year had been kind of horrible... he got bullied the whole year, and the whole year he restrained himself from landing a fist in the idiot's faces. He hadn't made any friends. Qibli glanced around the bus to realize there were a lot more people this year. A lot of people he had never seen before... though he did vaugely recognize one girl. Started with an A, he believed.

Oliver once again looekd around the bus, she was starting to get tired from this bus ride and she hoped it would be over soon. After a moment longer she yawned while stretchign her arms aboved her head before laying acorss the bus seats. Her legs somewhat blocked the aisle but they weren't long enough to stretch to the other seats. Was it a bit rude to stretch out like that? Who know but Oliver didn't care she shifted slightly and closed her eyes trying to get comfortable. She then thought about the school year hopefully everything would go smoothly and she wouldn't do anything to get herself suspended unlike any other shool she had been too. After a moment longer of laying there lost in thought she fell asleep.

Qibli closed his eyes again, settling back into the seat before opening them and running a hand through his light blonde hair. -I stick out so horribly- he thought. -Like a desert on a satellite- Qibli couldn't help but chuckle slightly at that, his grey eyes sparkling the way they usually did. He glanced around the bus again to see a girl sticking her legs across the aisle... but they were too short to make it to the other side. Honestly, Qibli had to stifle a laugh. He was genuinely quiet, people assumed he was shy, and he was never rude... but that was a little funny.

When was this bus ride going to be over? That was the question that seemed to be on replay in Quail’s head. Normally he was fine with traveling long distances, he was used to traveling for rodeos and other competitions and also traveling back up to Kehewin to visit his grandparents for the summer but for some reason this bus ride seemed unbearable. He was now beyond excited to arrive at the riding academy. Would he have a roommate? Would he easily make friends? Quail had a plethora of questions running through his mind as he sat silently in his seat. He picked up his cowboy hat and put it on instead of leaving it sitting in his lap. Quail looked around the bus. Unlike his early glances which just covered those in front of him this time he even looked behind him. He was curious and wanted to get at least a decent look at everyone although he was careful not to stare. He noticed someones legs somewhat blocking the aisle, he couldn’t help but let out a chuckle. How he wished he could stretch out like that on the seat. Just then an idea popped into his mind. Quail pulled out his phone, switching his playlist to a more relaxing one instead of the rock and metal he was previously listening to. He leaned back slightly in his seat, pulling the front of his hat down to cover his face. Almost immediately after closing his eyes Quail was out, sleeping in as comfortable of a position as he could manage. Maybe sleeping would help the bus ride pass by faster.

Qibli then got to wondering about the academy. Last year he didn't have a roommate... so he just assumed he wouldn't have one this year, either. He guessed that everyone would think he was weird or hate him, so he probably wouldn't have any friends. Since that was normal, he was pretty okay with it. Although a little park of loneliness did rise inside of him. Qibli wished some people would want to be friends with him but he knew it was doubtful that would happen. He thought back to the one friend he had, the one he hadn't seen in years. That guy was definetely the weirdest, toughest, funniest person Qibli had ever met... so he was perfect as a friend. Qibli adjusted in his chair, looking down at his cowboy boots for a moment before turning his gaze to the black cowboy hat beside him. It was a deep pitch black with a navy blue feather, almost unseeable, wrapping around the headpiece. That was one of Qibli's prized possesions, the one thing that did a great job at covering up his bright hair. He put it on his head and decided to take a nap like literally everyone else, but he couldn't seem to fall asleep.

The students have now arrived at the school and are advised to find their dorms and tend to their horses. First there will be an announcement made in the mess hall. Please head there first. -Headmistress Saxe

Abby woke to the bus screeching to a stop. They were in a circular parking lot with a building in front of them. The place was crowded with buses and children. Abby figured the horses must come in a different way. She pulled out her ear plugs and grabbed her jacket from her seat. Waiting for everyone else to leave the bus, Abby scanned the faces for familiar feautures. Maybe one of her "friends" from school had come too.

As the bus came to a screeching halt Quail kind of jumped up, his cowboy hat followed to the floor of the bus. “Wh- what?” Was all he was able to grumble before realizing they had arrived at the school. Bus brakes were always so loud when stopping and always without fail managed to scare Quail awake if he was still sleeping while the bus stopped. Grabbing his hate and placing it back on his head he made his way off the bus quickly. He was the first to get off, he stood a few feet away waiting for everyone else to get off the bus. As he waited he put his phone and earbuds into his jean pocket. Putting his hands in his pocket, he rocked back and forth on his heel slightly, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. Quail couldn’t help but feel giddy as a wave of excitement rushed through him, he was feeling confident about this school year. He had high hopes. Maybe he’d even go out of his way and talk to someone else today despite usually preferring to keep to himself. Perhaps this new environment would help him become more outgoing and stop him from always keeping to himself and not really talking much unless spoken to first.

Dissapointed, Abby followed the students off the bus and onto Saxe Riding Academy campus. She couldn't help but gasp. To her right stood a beautiful, polished wood barn and to her left was it's twin. The dorms were right in front of her, a little off to the left and right. In the distance she could see arenas, pastures, fields, and even a few small forests. In her awe, someone bumped into her, jostling Abby out of her daze. "Hey, watch it!" Said the boy, who was probably about 18. Abby looked down in embarrassment. "Sorry." She mumbled, and dissapeared into the crowd, not sre where she was going but didn't much care.
