Name: Katherina Payne Age: 24 Gender: Female Appearance: With orange/red hair that is chin-length, Kat keeps careful maintenance of it on the daily. She has fair skin and steel gray eyes that have hints of green around her pupils. Standing at 5'6", Kat has a lean build with a small waist and slim muscles from her years of working/riding. She loves her cup of coffee in the morning as she does her work at the stables, and that's usually when she makes her presence known to everyone. She has the nickname, Ms. Pain, from her strict teaching methods back when she was a trainer at her old barn. Background: Originally born and raised in a small town in Northern England, Katherine's family moved to the US when she was 16 years old. She has a younger brother, Callum, who rides at Bayridge, as well as her younger cousin Cassian. Show Name: All Or Nothing Barn Name: Notti Sex: Mare Age: 12 Breed: Westphalian Appearance: Notti was born a dark red bay but grayed out as she aged, leaving her with dapples over the majority of her coat. She stands at 17.1hh and is an athletic mare. Her thick black mane is kept short for braiding during shows. Discipline: Show Jumping Training: Advanced Personality: Almost mimicking her owner in a way, Notti is known around the barn as being the opposite of a stereotypical mare. She is very friendly on the ground and great around new riders/children. Notti does not do well with riders she does not know under saddle, and Kat learned that the hard way with a previous student at her old barn. While in her stall, Notti will poke her head out to gain attention from anyone that happens to be walking by. History: Bought as a 3-year-old, Notti was Kat's first project horse. Their relationship was rocky in the beginning, as Notti was hot-headed in her youth and hard to teach. Now, the mare is bomb-proof under Kat's hands and is willing to go anywhere with her rider. Name: Thyra Dröfnsson Age: 17 Gender: Female Appearance: Pale skin, faint freckles bridging her nose, Thyra is often considered a spitting image of her mother. Thyra keeps a willowy build, standing at 5'8", lean from years of riding. Like her mother, and most of her siblings, she has a faint blush that brushes across her cheeks. Her eyes are large and almond-shaped, emerald in hue, a faint rim of darker blue outlining her iris, something she retains from her father's side of the family. Thyra's facial expressions can be described as disinterested, at least to someone who doesn't know her, a simple arch of an eyebrow enough to make someone second-guess themselves. It's not to say that she doesn't have emotions, not at all, for a genuine smile can either be found on her face or at least in her eyes.
If not in uniform, or breeches and a polo shirt, Thyra can be seen in a gray windbreaker, a woolen shirt, and jeans underneath. Her lobes are pierced, traditionally with dangling silver earrings.
Fiery ginger hair, better described as copper, hangs down in slight waves to the small of her back. It hasn't seen a ponytail for much of Thyra's seventeen years. That being said, if not tucked behind her ears, it's in a braid. Her hair is shiny, though not as neat as she would hope, and wrangling it takes longer than she wishes it would, and it doesn't appear there's anything she could do about it. Role: Competition Team Rider Sexual Orientation: Pansexual Romantic Interest: Single Horse(s): Corr Discipline: Dressage Riding Ability: Advanced Personality: Honestly, Thyra can appear cold at first, but it's a protective method of not letting anyone get too close in the beginning. Truly, she is a caring person. Perhaps she cares too much, so she waits for people to earn her trust and respect. Once respect is gained, Thyra is fiercely loyal, and a dependable figure to lean on.
With growing up with three siblings, she spends a lot of her time looking at others, regarding others in certain circumstances. That being said, she doesn't despise sharing, but if she doesn't have to, she probably won't.
Sarcasm is something she wields like her blade, words becoming twisted into her own weapons, knowing how and where precisely to strike. But pursuit of knowledge, and curiosity of certain subjects can sometimes be enough just to bring her through the day, though it can and has led to rather silly places.
Thyra knows how to control her anger well, but her fuse is short and deadly. Honestly, if she's furious, she might start switching between Gaelic and English. Not a lot of things anger her as for that to happen, but when people insult her friends or family, then those things will happen.
She carries herself with dignity, and might seem stoic from a distance. But if one truly gets to know her, she's really not that bad. Background: Thyra was born in the rolling moors of Scotland, though her family moved to England when she was merely a year old. Starting riding at six, before she knew it, she was at a boarding school in America, and leasing out Corr. Give or take two years, Thyra finally bought the stallion, and has started riding at Bayridge. •⋅⋅•⋅⋅•⋅⋅•⋅∙∘☽༓☾∘∙⋅•⋅⋅•⋅⋅•⋅⋅• Show Name: Mystify Barn Name: Corr, Uisce Stall Number: 20 Sex: Stallion Age: 8 years old Breed: Georgian Grande Appearance: It's hard not to notice Mystify as stunning. Flashy and graceful, the stallion takes more after the Saddlebred in his lineage than the Friesian. Feathering drapes over his hooves, only a shade darker than the rest of his coat. Corr is a grullo, nearly onyx barring around his legs and a dorsal stripe of the same color running from his mane to rump. Like a saddlebred, the stud's tail is like that of his sire, wispy and high-set, though his mane resembles that of a Friesian's wavy. A crescent moon shaped patch of white is at the point of his forehead, his forelock draping over it, a set of mahogany tinted eyes shining with something akin to mischeviousness. Name: Jack Williams Age: 23 Gender: Male Appearance: Jack is about 6'2, slim but toned, tan from years being in the sun. He has wavy blond hair that is always messed up and azure blue eyes that are usually crinkled from his easy smile. Role: Client/ staff (ideally working at barn to pay for his horse's board) Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual Romantic Interest: N/A Horse(s): Ride Harley Davidson (Harley) and Strictly Overtime (Outlaw) Discipline: Eventing, Dressage, Jumpers Riding Ability: Showing Training level eventing and practicing Modified. Showing 3'6 Jumpers and Third Level dressage Personality: Jack is super easy going. He loves meeting new people and hanging out with anyone. He does, however, have some abanonment and trust issues, so while he makes friends easily, he finds it difficult to let people deep into his life. He is a huge night owl, and mornings are definitely not his thing, but you can still find him at the barn early (just not fully awake). He almost always has music playing through headphones (when its safe), and will sit down with a book any chance he gets. If its not raining, he's going to be outside (and sometimes when it is raining). Background: Jack started riding when he was eight. His parents were always very supportive, even though they couldn't afford more than basic lessons. As soon as he was old enough, he got a job working at a local stable in exchange for more lessons. He leased several horses, and eventually gained a few clients he rode for. He saved every penny, and bought his first horse, Outlaw, as a three year old when he was eighteen. Harley came three years later, as a four year old. * * * Show Name: Ride Harley Davidson Barn Name: Harley Sex: Gelding Age: 5 Breed: Thoroughbred Appearance: Harley is a 17.2 dark bay with four white socks and a snip on his nose. He is well muscled from proper work. Discipline: Dressage, Show jumping, soon eventing Training: Harley was restarted off the track less than a year prior, so he is mostly worked in dressage, up to first level. They pair does some jumping, all under 3' Personality: Very friendly, energetic, in-your-pocket type. He loves to have a job, and does every thing he can to please. He hates being stalled for long periods of time and will freak out if forced to be. He also, though no one can figure out why, is terrified of the sound of rain on roofs and would rather stand out in the rain. History: Harley was a rather unsuccessful racehorse and retired when he was three. He was turned out for several months, before Jack bought him in his four year old year. * * * Show Name: Strictly Overtime Barn Name: Outlaw Sex: Gelding Age: 8 Breed: Appendix Appearance: 17hh, thickly built. Dark dapple grey with dark mane and tail. Discipline: Eventing, Dressage, Show jumping Training: Modified in Eventing, 3'6-3'9 Jumping, third level dressage. Personality: Very goofy, loves to groom and be groomed. Will do anything for food. He thinks dogs should be his best friends. He is, however, terrified of the needles and hates the vet. All his manners go out the window when its time for an appointment. History: Jack bought Outlaw as a three year old and started him himself. Before Jack, he was mostly left alone in turnout with other horses, being handled just enough to have basic manners. |
