Hey fellow breeders! Is it just me or do very young horses have a tendency to produce higher rated foals than older ones? I often see that in breeding histories and recently got an EEE-filly from a 3-year-old PPP-mare. Now I'm sceptical if she can do the trick again - she's actually not that exceptionally good in training.

Welcome to the chat! I don't think I've particularly noticed that, no. It may also be a bit that once a weak mare has produced well-rated foals that don't necessarily train well, or doesn't hit the LBs, the owner may brood her out for cheap or throw her at cheaper studs to save money and thus the ratings start sucking a bit.

I call this phenomenon "the mare runs out of potential" xD I noticed that certain mares do this but others don't. For example this girl was a solid producer until the end, whereas this girl threw an EWE after two PPPs. So it all comes down to the fandom factor in the end :D Black Bean Stables said: Hey fellow breeders! How did your ROs go? I brooded out my girls and they were (mostly) polite, and bought a new EEE to test with the new (!!!) WWW and she threw an EEE filly. Super excited about all of them.

Congrats on your WEE! So you'll stick to breeding AD RIDs, Breezie? Well... Nothing beyond PEE colts, unwanted colors and mediocre show horses so far, but I won't breed all my matches today, so there's still hope. ;-) --- Edit: Nooo, April Fool's Day just corrupted my vocabulary. :D Actually I don't like swimming.
