I've been a little panicky about going from Wacom. But I've heard a lot of good things about Huion. And I did make my choice.

Alright. So my new tablet came today and I am so, so disappointed. I absolutely LOVE the tablet. It is so sleek, easy to use. The pen glides so nicely over the tablet, it doesn't have the "paper" texture that a lot of the Wacom tablets have. So that was really nice. BUT. Big but. It does not have the pan/scroll function that Wacom has. It is not a supported function. So that was a huge, huge deal breaker for me. The tablet is boxed up and will be sent off via UPS in the morning.
So if someone is new and looking to get a tablet for the first time I highly recommend the tablet. But if you are used to having the pan/scroll feature I do not recommend at all unless you can live without it. But for me, it was just too much of an interruption of work flow to have to keep going back to my mouse to move the image which is a lot because I usually work in pictures that are anywhere from 3000 to 5000px wide/high and usually work at 300% zoom. But after ten years of tablet use, I just can't do no pan/scroll sadly.
Also, I did some research into the XP-Pen, this brand of tablet also cannot support pan/scroll.
Soooo a new Wacom Intuos will be here in a couple days :)
Hopefully this helps anyone who comes across this thread looking for tablet options.

That is so nice to know! IÂ’m sorry you had to send it back though. IÂ’m so glad I came across this thread. IÂ’ve been planning on getting a new tablet, and I was also wondering if I should try something other than Wacom, which is what I have now. But losing that feature would be a big deal, so IÂ’m really glad to know the other donÂ’t support it. Thank you so much!

Yeah, it totally sucked hard core. I fell in love with that tablet immediately. It was so easy to use. I loved how smooth it was compared to the "scratchiness" that wacom can get since they have a paper texture. But... I cant live without the pan/scroll. After seeing that tablet if Huion ever updates their drivers to support pan/scroll I will drop Wacom in a hot minute. That's how much I liked it.
But I'm glad this was able to help someone! That makes me happy.
My new tablet came Sunday but I havent been able to try it out, just get it set up is all. This one has fancy bluetooth connection. I'm super bummed because it has that rough surface that wackos have (unless you get the intuos pro and you can change the surface apparently but... $256 for a refurbished and another $35 for the surface...). Plus it only came with three nibs (hidden inside the pen...) instead of five like in the past.
So tomorrow the new tablet and i will have our first art day. Edited at February 18, 2019 10:55 PM by Jericho Stables
