He pulled in, letting out a shaking sigh. "We're here." He murmured, stepping out and almost offering his hand to Lili, before wincing and pulling away before she could notice. He pulled Holly out of the crate, stroking the whimpering puppy and heading inside.

Lili nods, looking over at him with a soft smile, trying to lighten the mood. "Cole..." She looks at him with a soft sigh as she gets out of the car. "...Breathe..." She murmurs to him as they walk toward the front entrance.

"I can't." He admitted, biting his lip. "I'm scared there's something else wrong with her." Heading through the door, the receptionist gave Cole a bright smile. "Hey kiddo! Where's the troublemaker?" "Not so much of one right now." He mumbled, taking Holly out of her crate. "She's just not herself and it's scaring me."

Lili sighs softly, taking his hand and stroking the top of it with her thumb. "I'm sure she's just really sad and a bit depressed right now... Don't think the worst..." She says softly to him when they get inside.

Fighting back a few tears, Cole gripped her hand tightly. I miss this. I just don't deserve it. "Well, I can probably get you in soon." The receptionist smiled, reaching up to stroke the whimpering puppy. "But for now you two can find somewhere to sit and relax if you'd like."

Lili continued to stroke his hand gently then nodded to the receptionist. "Thank you so much" She says, walking toward an open seat with Cole.

After sitting down, and without missing a beat, Cole began to cry quietly, burying his face in Lili's shoulder. "Thank you." His words muffled by small sobs.

Lili nods a little. "Of course" She whispers in his ear. "I'm always here for you" She adds softly, gently running her fingers through his hair, soothingly.

|
|
|
|
Hesitating, Cole mumbled a simple "I love you." That sounded even almost inaudible to himself.

Lili gently wrapped her arms around his shoulders, laying her head on top of his. She hummed quietly to herself, it helped calm her, like her own soothing method, it was helping her from breaking down on the spot.
