Amaranth | Mare | Prairie Herd | M - Stormfire, Arion, Flame

Blue eyes landed on the ominous clouds overhead, even the air had changed to signify incoming rain. Amaranth took her gaze away when she noticed Stormfire behaving oddly. She cocked her head, why was he behaving this way? Her eyes followed the stallion before he disappeared into the tree line and lost sight of him. After shaking out her confused thoughts, her attention went to finding Arion. Recently, she had become curious about him, and she wanted to know more about the Prairie Herd stallion. A presence came up at her side and startled Amaranth, but she quickly realized it was Flame. The mare seemed to be pacing and in her own thoughts; so, Amaranth only nodded in greeting before taking off in a trot in the direction of Arion.

The black mare spotted a stallion and foal running within the Mountain Herd, her gaze softened on the filly. Amaranth’s mind slipped to Hera’s foal… She quickly shook her neck in discomfort, when she realized she had already come across Arion. Dipping her head in greeting, she asked, “May I join you?” Her eyes went to the clouds once more, she didn’t want to be alone at the moment.

He looked up at the sky, surprised to see dark clouds gathering on the horizon. If it rains, it would be a big help.He snorted scornfully. Mother nature isn't being very motherly right now. He walked out of the tree line, favoring his injured shoulder a bit as he walked to a spot where he could smell the wind. It smells like rain. Hopefully it doesn't pass us over again. He looked down and was surprised to see that he was standing near to 2 mares. Is it Amaranth and Arion? Oh well, don't get too attached, Stormfire. If you don't get close, they can't be taken away and hurt you. He sidestepped so he was under a rock's shadow, seeking the soothing comfort of the darkness. He knew he was still near the mares, but it was just nice, that feeling of being secure, if not totally safe.

Arion looked up with a start at the sound of hoofbeats. "Hmm..? Oh, I suppose so." He said in reply to Amaranth's question. He shifted to make space for her. Arion spotted her looking up at the clouds. "Clouds making you nervous?" He asked. He watched as Stormfire came close, but sidestepped so that his body was enveloped in the shadows of a rock. Arion squinted. It seemed that Stormfire was favoring one shoulder. Hmm... Well, I'll investigate later. He thought.

He noticed that a human was taking a horse out of its pen. He looked away from the clouds and watched intently. Rain is probably too much to hope for. But right now, the human is the immediate threat. I'll have to watch them since everyone else is staring at the sky like idiots. He moved around the other horses, trying to avoid them noticing his slight limp. He moved to a point where he was under a tree where he could watch the human closely. It took him even closer to Arion and Amaranth, but he figured he could trust them as much as he could trust anyone since they were his herd mates. He kept one ear cocked towards mountain herd, and trained the rest of his senses on the human that was coming even closer to his own herd.

Amaranth pondered his question before saying, “It’s not the rain that I am worried about…” She shuffled her feet while her mind wandered to the humans now going out and about. “I was just thinking about how unusual it is for the humans to come out when it’s raining.” The sky hasn't let loose any droplets yet, but for Amaranth, weather like this meant a time for peace and quiet, away from humans and Mountain Herd disturbance. The black mare brought herself to the ground gently, folding her legs to get comfortable. She may as well rest since she had the opportunity, and she felt safer knowing Stormfire and Arion were closeby.As for Stormfire, the stallion seemed anxious about the human activity, and rightfully so.

"Have you ever thought that maybe they like it? I mean sure, it's weird but all humans are weird." Arion said, "And besides, its only one human. Us horses are much stronger than them, so there's no need to worry." He had partially directed this at Stormfire, who seemed anxious. In the distance, you could see that it had begun to rain. Good, we need it. Maybe it'll make a bit of the grass come back.

Dusty glanced at the sky. It seemed that it was almost about to rain, and it was raining in the distance. She watched Stormfire, who seemed anxious about the human that was coming closer. She squinted at him. Is he limping? Dusty studied his movements for awhile longer. Hm. It must be my imagination. She shifted her gaze towards Arion and Amaranth, who were laying together. She spotted a softness in Arion's gaze when he looked at Amaranth, which was something Arion never gave to anyone. Looks like Arion has a crush on her. Good. It's time that Arion should soften up a bit.
