Bluebonnet Estates said: Oh! I also had a middle school friend who had said she owned a 22.8 hh purebred Friesian mare that was appy by some genetic mutation, and also somehow a stallion "broke into the stables opened her stall and bred her" a week later she had a Tobi Percheron baby, and she couldn't get a picture since the mare would jump her 8ft fence and run away and somehow the Percheron baby followed. She knew her breeds vaguely at least lol although she pronounced Frisian as Freezin (her reasoning for the mare running away was because she was afraid of the clicking sound of the camera
this is glorious

That soccer was more dangerous than jumping... When I asked him why he said that you could get stepped on my cleats and I was like "Holy shit! I didn't think of that that's soo much worse than being trampled by a 1000 pound animal!"and he thought I was being serious.

Oh also I intern at a horse barn and have encountered my fair share of shitty eight year olds but this one girl tightened her girth all the way on one side and I tried to tell her that her saddle was gonna tilt but obviously I was wrong because "She leases this horse" (her mom does) and she was more advanced than me (she can't trot without a lead line) so i was like whatever you do you and she gets on. About five minutes into me leading her around her saddle is practically on the poor horses side but she won't get off until she fell off and started crying and blaming me. If we were allowed to touch the kids I would have slapped her in the face...

When I was younger, my parents boarded our Haflinger pony at a lesson barn. I had her in the cross ties and was brushing her, about to start tacking up, and one of the lesson kids who also had their own horse, but I guess just liked ours, went up to my Mom and said it's not fair that (My name) can ride Bella, and I'm not allowed to. My Mom told her that the pony was ours and that she has her own horse she can ride. The girl just got offended and walked away. Edited at April 2, 2023 07:03 PM by Wild Winnie Equine

Okay I got a good one for this (I think) so I was out in the pasture with my thoroughbred Sierra, And my sister had been watching me (She's younger than me but only by 2 years) and she asks if she can ride her, I told her yes and I help her onto Sierra and she takes her hand and starts smacking her butt (Not hard, lightly) and she says "Why isn't she moving?" and I laughed so hard It felt like I broke a rib and I ask her why she's smacking Sierra's butt and she says "I saw on youtube one of those races and they were smacking the horses butt with something to make it go, Is that not how you make her go?" and put it this way, She's watched me ride, She knows I don't smack Sierra... So i tell her that not how you move a horse that something a jockey dose to get their horse to "move faster" and she was so embarrassed lol

Oh god... and it's usually the ones that probably shouldn't be allowed to ride XD. My lease horse is an angel and he is the kind of horse that you don't need ANY pressure on the bit with. The amount of kids that yank on his face for no reason is insane. Also he is great about picking up his feet and sometimes if you get near his back legs he will pick them up because he is trying to be helpful. So one day I got to the barn and some little girl was brushing him. She runs her hand down his legs like she is asking him to pick up his feet and when he does she smacks the shit out of him and I was like "Why did you just hit him?!" And she was like "Did you not see?, he tried to kick" and I wouldn't let her finish tacking him up (even though I was supposed to talk him up anyways)... Sorry i don't know why the thing I wrote is in the quote. Edited at April 3, 2023 08:17 AM by Evergreen hunt club

I'll be riding my old Morgan gelding (who is very fine boned) and someone walks up "Oh that's a cute girl. She looks nice" as he starts spooking because the human just POPPED up right there - People yell at me as I'm doing showmanship with the same gelding because I'm going to go into the gelding class and they say that I belong in the mare class - Someone asks why I'm riding western with a helmet shouldn't I have a cowboy hat on, and those cowboy boots look so cute I think 'I like my brain to stay intact, and I'm wearing them because they are comfortable and have HEELS so I can stay on the horse' - I have a baby horse and he was supposed to get gelded today but couldn't because there will be a big blizzard tomorrow and the next day so we resceduled. My mom is like posting all over Facebook about the gelding, and someone says, I swear, "Oh my gosh! That's animal torture! Your cutting them open and taking their guts out! I'm calling the police!" And then I have to explain the they get sedated so it doesn't hurt them, then the same person goes, "GASP. You out them to sleep, too! Aghhhhh! 911!" (Face palm) I'm like, 'lady, control yourself or leave, please. Thank you.' - Im riding a lazy lesson horse and trying to get him ready for the next kid so he's all warmed up, so I have a whip and spurs on. Someone goes, "Oh my gosh, why are you whipping the poor animal and stabbing it with knives?! This is animal abuse! I'm calling for help!" Then stomps outside and realizes we have no wifi or service in our barn :/ Edited at April 3, 2023 12:25 PM by Wild Warmbloods
