TigerLily Equestrian said: Six year old beginner at my barn sees the Shetland pony she will ride (they do pony rides for little kids)...😂. "Aww, it's a baby horse!! Can I ride it?" The instructor, "It's a pony, not a baby horse. You will be riding him today." "Aww it a baby pony?" The instructor, "Nope, just a pony." "Aww, it's so cute." I wanted to cringe and laugh at the same time lol. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The ultimate eye roll for me... "What's that white ones name over there?" "He's not white he's gray." "He's obviously white." Sigh* Launches into explanation... (This one gets on my nerves a bit because it happens so often.) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Parent: when is my kid going to gallop? Parent later on, sees their kid cantering Parent: omg! Their galloping! **gets out phone to record.** This is hilarious when people just forget, or don't know, that canter is a gait too. I have seen it in multiple situations, this being one of them.
Lol the pony one is hilarious

A couple years ago when I was in 4H, we were sitting in our tack stall and a little girl and her mom came up to pet our Haflinger pony and said "Aww, a pregnant baby horse!" My thoughts were haha no she's just fat -_- XD ~ One of my uncles who is not a fan of horses likes to call them raptors lol ~ My great aunt who "owned" a horse for less than a year told me backing a horse up was cruel 🤦♀️ Edited at December 7, 2022 12:32 PM by DaisyMeadowEventing

"Can I ride your horse" Will I let you? No. Can you? Also no. - "Why are you taking lessons if you say you know how to ride?" I'm not an all-knowing god, nor am I a professional 😐

My neighbor, this is the neighbor that think buckskins are a breed, has my mom's phone number and asked for her granddaughter to come over while we weren't home. She was going to enter our pasture and feed our horses. Of course we said no lol we told her the electric fence was on and she would get shocked by it. Her granddaughter literally said "oh I will just crawl under it" like no kid, who lets some random kid they don't know climb into their horse's pasture and feed them something that wasn't approved 🤦🏼♀️ Luckily they haven't asked since then. My six year old lesson kid: "I can make her stop walking. I have a way with horses, Mummy says. She taught me." Me: *gently grabs Cricket's rein, she stops walking* Kid: Look, see? Horses listen to me. Edit: forgot to mention, the whole time she was standing in front of Cricket, backing up so she wouldn't get run over, going 'whoa. WHOA.' Whenever we take our horses camping, sometimes my sister's Welsh Arabian cross shares the stall with my other sister's miniature horse. EVERY SINGLE TIME someone says "aww, look at that horse's baby!" I say "That's not her baby he is just smaller and they like to keep each other company" "No, that is definitely a baby horse." 🤦♀️

This made my day FirstLightFarms said: My and sister were hanging out in the back pasture when some people walking past the farm stopped and started asking about the horses, which were a collection of retired Quarter Horses and a few pinto Arabian crosses and the paso fino. My favorite question was "do you race them?" Being the little shit I am, I threw my arm over the paso and was like "yep, this one won the Kentucky Derby." They were in AWE.

I once had my cousin ask me why the horse I was working with wasn't covered in gold since he was a gelding. Explaining gelding and gilding are two very different things was funny.

Youre in charge of a partnership with a huge intelligent creature thats heavier than you and you have to not get each other killed I say thats more than just sitting down lol that is exactly skill Floresta said: This pisses me off. Yes, we sit there, but it's the "just" that gets me. How about your cousin sits on the horse? They'll probably find themselves on the ground. Yes, we sit there. And we're freakin' proud of it, because it takes skill. And that's only step one of riding. Silver Isle Eventing said: Not too long ago my cousin gave me the classic, "But you just sit there."
