Sage growled slightly, desperately trying to get his thoughts under control. He knew Roxie was right about Hades....he definitely didn't care about anything, and he would kill both his wife and daughter, and probably torture him, though at that point he didn't think it mattered. But....the last time, it had almost killed Max, and how would aging Charlie help? She wouldn't be able to magically use her powers perfectly, and be strong...that didn't happen, right? And all of those nightmares...they could so easy become true, just real not in his head. All of the tension just sort of left his body and he sat down heavily with a sigh, putting his head in his hands. "Give us a moment to talk," he finally rasped to Roxie. He just didn't know what to do, and he was terrified. He needed to talk to Max, he needed her help and support. |

"Fine..." Roxie replied "Call for me when you decide..." she said snapping her fingers and vanishing before their very eyes. Max knelt beside her husband "Hey shh... calm down for a second..." she told her husband gently "Calm down and then talk to me." he said gently. |

Sage moved his hands to slide down his skull and clutch his hair, almost in a frenzied way, trying to control his breathing enough to look at Max and meet her eyes. "I..." He sort of tried to wheeze out words, and then failed and growled in frustration. His hands were clinched tight enough he wasn't sure how his hair was staying in his head. |

Max sighed gently and kissed his forehead "How about we go home? I'll make something to eat and you can calm down and just hang out with Charlie for a bit then we'll talk..." she said gently kissing his forehead again. |

Sage but his lower lip, about to try and argue that they didn't have time, they needed to talk about all this now, but his words failed him. He opened his mouth, trying to argue, and then gave up and just nodded silently, all the visions from the nightmares flashing in front of his eyes as he took hold of Max's hand. It wasn't a romantic hold...no, it was like she was leading a blind man, guiding him, while he saw what he assumed were visions of what might come to pass. And they were awful. |

When they got home Max put Charlie on her play mat before she made the three of them some dinner Max gave Charlie baby food and a few banana slices that she cut up into small bite sized chunks she could eat without choking on whilst she and Sage ate some sandwiches "Just calm down babe..." she said gently "Tell me when you're ready." |

Sage had calmed down a bit by the time he'd sat while Max had made food for both of them and their daughter, though gruesome images still flickered in his vision. He pinched his lips together at her words and shook her head with a sigh. "the nightmares have been worse," he admitted quietly. "You had enough to worry about...without dealing with me throwing up my guts in the bathroom every night. You need your sleep, especially now..." He set his sandwich down, definitely not hungry anymore. "Except now I'm pretty sure these are all visions and-" he cut off when a particularly bad vision cut through his mind, his eyes taking on a kind of haunted look as he stared blankly in the direction of the wall before he pressed the heels of his hands against his eyes. "I see so much, Max...I see all the bad things that could happen," he choked out. "I can't loose you, or Charlie, and no matter our choices something awful could happen." He was shaking again, which only made him more mad at himself. |

Maxine nodded gently listening to him "I'd much rather know and help you deal if I can then not know about it until its spiraled out of control Sage..." she said firmly taking his hands "You can always come to me... I don't care what else is going on." she assured him. She put a hand on his shoulder when he spaced out trying to bring him back to reality. "Pay attention to that word COULD..." she told him "Could doesn't mean will... nothing is ever set in stone." she told him "Yes something could happen... even when this kind of shit isn't going on..." she told him "We need to make the best choices we can for us and our children... what more can we do?" she asked him gently "If you have another option i'd love to hear it... but we're doing what every parent does and trying to do what's best for our kids..." she told him putting a hand on her abdomen caressing it gently "We might be right we might be wrong but what more can we do?" she asked tipping her head as she looked at him. |

Sage brought his gaze back to Max, though it was obviously a struggle. You could see it in his eyes, all the flickers that came and went, and the way his fingers tightened around Max's like he was holding onto her desperately. He murmured some kind of weary apology to the girl for hiding it from her and then shrugged. "I don't think there's anything we can do about the visions ...or if they come true or not," he sighed, dropping his head to the table. He shook his head slightly and groaned, grabbing his hair again, shoulders tensing more than what he thought was possible. "There's no good choice...and I don't know which choice we have is better." He growled slightly and sort of seemed to curl up even tighter. "Or would it be more merciful to just kill her quickly," he hissed, knowing that was never an option, and he knew Max knew he'd never even think about actually hurting their daughter. His head jerked up, his gaze cutting to Max. "You don't know him, you don't know the things he's done....the things he can do..." He throat constricted then, and he was struggling to breathe. He reared back slightly letting out a strangled noise as he stared at the wall again. "Max," he squeaked, blindly reaching out for her. "Max, the walls are bleeding," he gasped in a sort of strangled voice. "It's everywhere...it everywhere and I dont-" he stopped talking as his throat constricted again, and he couldn't breathe and couldn't think and the blood was filling the room and he didn't know how to stop it. |

Max kept a hand on him and did her best to use her powers to push the visions away... but it wasn't something she could heal... it wasn't an injury it was just part of Sage's powers... there wasn't anything she could do about it. "Maybe not but it doesn't mean they're going to come true..." she pointed out gently removing her hand from him when he slumped over, she put her hands on his shoulders and gently rubbed them trying to massage the tensenss out of them "Shhh..." she said gently before she moved her hands away "No, we're not killing our daughter." she hissed firmly however when he looked at her his eyes bore into hers fiercely and she listened to him "Sage-" she broke off when he started sounding as if he were being strangled "Sage?!" she yelped laying him back on the couch "No no they're not... you're fine hun! i'm right here!" she yelped "Roxie!" she hissed "Get your ass here now!" she snapped trying to calm her husband. Roxie showed up her eyes wide before she pressed two fingers to his forehead her eyes going white as she saw what he was seeing, it was horrifying and overwhelming at the same time... "He's lost control on his visions..." she told her thinking for a moment "I need to rein them in..." she told her before she disappeared again and reappeared putting a drop of some blue liquid on his tongue and using her powers to make the liquid work faster "This should calm his mind..." she told her "At least for now... it shouldn't be as overwhelming... Maybe you should take Charlie out for a bit again... Perhaps he'll want to talk to me." she said. Maxine hesitated for a moment before she gave a small nod "Okay..." she replied if he didn't want to burden her maybe he would talk to Roxie... she'd try anything to get this under control... it was going to drive her husband mad if he kept going like this. |
