Sage ignored Roxie as she yelled. He had been yelled at enough for one day. Her yelling got to him much more than he let on, though, and he was gritting his teeth together the entire time. He almost wished he had talked to the human girl more. He stayed in the tree and thought deeply until he saw the girl stomp out of the work place. He scowled, already regretting his decision to give her back the book. He followed behind her for a while, knowing she wanted it but not knowing why he acted that she cared about a small book with some sketches in it. He kicked at the gravel as he went, annoyed with Roxie, with Death, and pretty much everyone else. And he was annoyed with himself. Why was he fighting so much when he was under Death's control? He couldn't really do anything. He sighed slightly and closed his eyes briefly as he walked. All of this was giving him a killer headache. |

Maxine had her earbuds in again... Music was her way of calming down but it was obvious she was frustrated... When she got to her little studio she huffed as she dropped her keys "Damn it..." She muttered turning slightly to pick up her keys, that's when she finally noticed the man behind her, she righted herself "You again...? What do you want?" She asked "Did you follow me? Are you some kind of stalker?" She asked her eyes narrowing "If you are I am NOT in the mood!" She grumbled through her teeth. Her hand closing around her keys and forming into a balled fist as if she were going to hit him. |

He rolled his eyes and sighed. "If you want to hit me, go right ahead. It won't be new " he scowled at her and tossed her sketchbook at her. "I'm not stalking you. You're boring. You obviously have talent but you work at a damn restaurant." He was annoyed by the girl but felt some admiration towards her, she had guts. Most people would run away when he spoke to them. Plus she had reacted better to almost dying than he had thought. He turned to lave after a moment, wondering why he was doing this for the millionth time. |

At that Maxine's fist loosened a bit when he tossed the sketchbook at her she dropped her keys completely to catch it her eyes wide as she took a brief flip through of the pages looking back up at him "Don't pretend to know who I am wiseass..." She retorted though her tone was a little gentler when he turned to leave without thinking she reached out to him grabbing him by the arm her touch was oddly gentle... "Wait... I owe you for bringing this back..." She said holding up the sketchbook briefly "How about I make you something to eat? Or fix you a drink or something? Ive got beer?" She offered taking her hand away "As a way of saying thank you." She added quickly. "It's no problem really... I always make a little extra for myself anyways." She assured "Besides... This might give you a chance to get to know me." She smirked letting him go and grabbing her keys "What do you say?" |

He stopped in his tracks and stiffened when she grabbed him, waiting for a heavy blow that never came. When she offered him something he relaxed slightly, realizing she wasn't really a threat. He looked over his shoulder at her and chewed on his bottom lip as he thought about how to respond. He was hungry, there was never enough of anything in hell, and as a very low ranking demon he wasn't left with much. But there was risks involved. Although, he had ready taken huge risks that day. He sighed and turned back towards the girl. "Maxine, was it," he muttered. He heasitated for a second longer. "Food is fine." He scrunched his face up before adding "thanks I guess" |

"Yep, Maxine." she nodded giving a small smile before nodding "Okay... and don't worry about it... you retured my sketchbook..." she chuckled gently before she took a breath and unlocked her door. Inside was rather small despite there being 2 levels. As you walked in there was a small living area with a 2 person couch and a small entertainment center with a little flatscreen TV with a DVD player and a few DVD's beside that was a small kitchen/dining area separated from the living area by a half wall. on the same wall as the kitchen was 2 doors but she didn't say what they were and there were different sized canvas's through out the rooms, some were wips, some were complete and/or packed and some were completely blank. "Bathroom's upstairs..." she said "Uh make yourself at home i'm gonnna go change." she said running upstairs "I'll be back in a minute!" she called. |

Sage nodded and looked around her house. He walked around and looked at all the canvases and decorations, taking in everything in the house. He never stayed in one place very long, and Hell wasn't the best place to live. He spent most of his time out on the streets of this world, carrying out jobs to keep himself busy so he didn't have to think about Death or Hell or his family, who he didn't get along with. He sat down at the table, but fidgeted, as he still didn't completely trust the girl and didn't know what to expect from her. He slipped his finger underneath his collar and tugged slightly in it as he thought. He couldn't take it off himself, and he hated it. He hated everything about it. He shook his head and forced himself to think about something else, something that wouldn't trigger any flashbacks while he was where someone could see him. |

When Maxine came back downstairs she was in some dark blue jean overalls and a green baggy T-shirt that was also covered in paint "Hey uh... I was thinking and you still haven't told me your name... If you're really not a stalker I think I should be able to know your name don't you?" she smirked playfully as she put her hair in a ponytail and came over to him tipping her head curiously "So... what's your name?" she asked. |

Sage sighed and chuckled slightly. "Heh. I guess that's fair." He tightened his fingers around his collar, which probably looked odd to the girl, since people didn't usually wear collars. Or maybe she thought it was some sort of choker necklace. He wasn't sure. "I'm Sage" he muttered. He was given that name by his parents, yes, but it was from a list Death had given them, and Sage felt like Death had been the one to name him. He wasn't sure what was worse, Death naming him or his parents. |

"Sage huh?" she asked curiously "I like that... its unique..." she said happily looking curiously at him "Whats that...?" she asked "Is it a choker? I hate those things..." she admitted "So what would you like for dinner?" she asked curiously heading off into the kitchen "I can make some sphagetti?" she offered "I also have beer or just plan soda or water or something if you want anything to drink." she said looking at him for an answer. |
