A rich dirt driveway leads you past a well-carved oak welcome sign. The wood stood seemingly untouched by Great Britain's apparently never ending rain, no rot, no water marks.Flourishing snowdrops sprouted at its equally well kept base. The path proceeded in its winding , scenic journey, tall evergreens lining the edges. When the estate was first established, the flora grew an a controlled manner , but as of recent the owners had decided to let saplings and buds emerge where ever they may pleasing, leaving a more natural and consequently stunning view. Small mammals and birds fled , spooked, from the greenery as your vehicle hummed by, rattling the link between itself and the trailing horse box, you were even so lucky as to see doe scamper into nature's cradle of bushes.
.
Slowly, the fence of trees transformed into the synthetic, carpentered type.A few curious mares raised their heads to observe your movement, soon turning away as they realised you were no threat at all, meanwhile their gangly and inexperienced yearling ran behind their dams.As your eyes refocus on the empty road ahead, beautiful architecture comes into view, the slate of the hip and dormer roof glistening with rain water in the infrequent sun.You couldn't see it from here, the large dark wooden gates being closed, but from what your invitation letter entailed, you knew the main manor had a courtyard.
.
The road you had being following split into three others, one heading left forward and right. You could see the parking lot on the left, which had changed its under footing to gravel. The front was almost full with different variants of trucks, off-roaders whilst the back was neatly lined with expensive looking horse boxes and even horse lorries, hell some of them were even two teir; you assumed they belonged to instructors, and judging by their vehicles they had a good pay check. The right path lead to a complex of stables. They look fancy... and also very expensive. From where you were positioned you could see at least 4 barns which god knows how many stalls and separate tack rooms, hay stores and riders lounges, all connective with sheltered paths. You knew it was lucky to be invited to a place like this but every time you saw something new, it just intimidated you more. Was there some kind of catch? Surely they wouldn't just let people board and train here... for free? Maybe you missed a part of the letter.
.
With that thought lingering in you mind, your veered left to the parking lot. Sweet crunching erupted from under your tires as you moved over the materials. A few empty spots resided on the end, so you pulled and parked, making sure to do it neatly jsut as everyone else had done so.You reached for your pocket, taking of the pristine invitation letter. The wax seal was damaged now, splitting and half crumbled from being in your pocket, the letter was slightly folded in places it shouldn't be, but the right was of course still legible.
" Dear recipient, we miss grove estate invite you to stay with us.... we provide plenty of facilities.... you may borrow horses of ours if you cannot bring you own.... you needn't pay for feed nor cleaning products...." Your mind buzzes, irritated, maybe i had missed something, i would have to- wait
" We charge no fees for your presence, all boarding ( equine and person ) are free, you are giving a weekly allowance of $200 a week PER PERSON for food and other necessities , please bare in mind that you will likely be sharing a house or apartment with 1-5 other people chosen at random. you will be told your house mates and house number upon arrival"
$200 a week? they're practically throwing away money! who owns this place? the letter did also state that any money not spent will not be added to following weeks budget, and you will not be keeping what you don't spend.
.
Maybe you should find your way to the foyer of the manor to arrange you and your horse's living arrangements

Callum Santiago | Owner | Ty | M:

Callum sat at his desk, tapping his fingers on the solid oak. He was just running through the final preparations before everyone showed up. The instructors were supposed to arrive before the students, but Callum knew there would be some overlap. He had everyone assigned to stalls and rooms, and had emailed everyone with those numbers, and had schedules posted all over. Instructor briefing at 12 pm, and Rider briefing and 1. Callum took a deep breath and stood from his desk, he walked through the barn aisles checking everything was clean and in order, and doing so if it wasn't.

Ajaya Sharma | Rider | Kodi | M:

Ajay pulled into the busy parking lot, she saw people and horses everywhere, trying to find a spot away from everyone, she settled for one only 2 spots in. She had a small trailer and was able to fit. Killing the engine she hopped out, grabbing a lead rope on her way. Ajay mindlessly undid the fastenings and unloaded Kodi. He backed out calmly, but then let out a big whinny. "Easy bud," she soothed. Pulling off his dark green shipping equipment, and placing them in the trailer, she lead her big stud into the cool barn. "Excuse me," she said politely so someone in the aisle. She noticed Kodi's stall already had hay and water for him.

Ramira Palmer | Dressage, Liberty, Horsemanship Instructor | Mars | M:

Remi was pleased to be one of the first ones to MSE, the estate still quiet and still. Mars basically unloaded himself from the trailer, and she grabbed his lead rope. He was calm and quiet. "I know, just another place. We're staying here a bit longer though" Remi spoke to him softly. Mars stepped onto the concrete, his composite shoes ringing out in a strange but equally calming sound. She placed him in his stall and went to unload her trailer. Remi unloaded Mars' stuff first setting it in the tackroom, and on the bar in front of his stall, she grabbed her own stuff next and headed for the instructor's quarters. Remi set her suitcase on the bed and unzipped it. She wanted to change out of her messy travel clothes, and into more professional barn clothing. A long sleeve shirt, dark brown breeches, and tall boots. Remi brushed her hair and tamed it into a braid.

Leon Maxwell | Horseball, SJ, XC Instructor | Ivor | M:

Leon had already unloaded Ivor and tied him to the side of the trailer. He had the horse in his maroon nylon sheet and shipping boots. Removing them quickly, Leon brushed the dust from Ivor's coat making him nice and shiny again. Walking passed a few horses who Ivor tried to sniff, they finally made it to the assigned stall. Leon stayed with Ivor a bit because he seemed agitated. After about 15 minutes Ivor settled and started eating, so Leon left to unpack and get settled before the briefing.

Emmett Anderson | Reining, Cutting, W Pleasure Instructor | Zodiac | M:

Emmett had arrived to a bustling stable, so he unloaded quickly and got Zodiac settled in, thankfully, his stall towards the end of the row. Emmett them headed towards his cottage, apartment, dorm, whatever it was to unpack and settle in before lessons and shows and all the crazy started. He hoped to meet some for eh other instructors before to long.

He could hear Star kicking the horse box again. That's a habit i really need to get him out of he thought to himself, running his fingers through his red curls as he stressed about the day ahead of him. Because oh boy did Elliot have a long to-do list ; Get Star in her stall, clean ALL of the racing tack ( by himself might i add ) , make sure the track is safe and the gates are working , warm up the racers .... it's extensive to say the least . One job at a time, he told himself as he stepped out of his car, happy to be in Britain again. He'd just come back from a smaller race in the states and had to rush himself home for Moss Grove's first day open.
Whilst stuck in his head , Elliot had already got Star fed and in her stall. Next job was to go cowed the racing saddles, because he had a funny feeling that the riders would be here very soon and would want a tour. With that he fled to the tack room, bringing arm fills of cleaning supplies , which he realised if anyone saw him , it would be a laughable sight. Before starting on the gruelling task, he texted the estates group chat ( yes of course they have one ) tel tell them where he'd be if someone needed him.

Music was playing, radiators were on and the kettle was full with water ready to be boiled. The riders lounge was as cosy as it could possibly be. Riders were supposed to arive at one , though no doubt some would arrive questionably late and early, it's was 11:38 so Opi was due for her brief soon.Though in the mean time she'd quadruple check the riders lounge for any imperfections, she wanted MGE to be perfect for the new arrivals.

Aster had thought his eyes were lying to him, never in hsi life and he seen such and expansive equine property, and stood before the stable blocks jt became all the more real to him. Triggy's what's we're pointed straight upwards and his head was held high in an attentive expression . Approaching the dauntingly large building , the stallion began to prance and walk in the funny sideways walk horses do when they're nervous
" you're okay boy, calm down , the stable won't bite ya" Aster half laughed to himself, observing the common antics of hsi warmblood.

Paige drove her car down the drive, and her student Elena was sitting in the passenger seat and staring out the window in awe.
"Wow! The boys are going to love it here" Elena said.
Paige agreed with her as they pulled into a spot and parked. "I hope the lorry doesn't get lost." He said. Since they didn't have a truck or trailer, they had hired a lorry to bring their horses to the stable. They got out of the car and walked into the stable block carring all of their tack and made a b-line towards their horse's stalls. They put their tack away, got their hay steaming, and then Paige left Elena to go try and fine either the owner or other instructors.
Elena Trempe | Rider (helps paige out when needed) | Koko | M:Paige, open
Elena had been in awe as they had driven down the drive. They could not believe how beautiful the property was. She hoped that Koko would be arriving soon, for he couldn't wait until they could have their first ride in the UK together. For the time being they busied themselves oiling their tack for what was probably the hundreth time within the past couple days. He put the bridle back on the hook before walking into Koko's stall to check the water, hay, and bedding, finding it completly to their liking. Xe checked their phone to see what time it was before turning and walking back to the car to grab their stuff before heading off towards the riders housing to unpack, and hopefully relax a bit before the horses arrived. The driver said they would message her and Paige when they arrived.

Sorry about the short posts, they'll get longer once everything gets going

Callum Santiago | Owner | Ty | M: Aster (brief, indirect)

Callum stopped by Ty's stall and rubbed her sweet face. "Hey, little lady," he murmed to her. "We'll pick up your training tomorrow," Callum put a short pause on Ty's training program for all the craziness that was happening today. After chatting with his favorite filly, for a few minutes, he headed to the front of the barn, to greet the newcomers and answer any questions. He waved and offered a half smile to a boy leading a nervous, but gorgeous paint stallion.

Ajaya Sharma | Rider | Kodi | M: Ophelia, Keelan (sort of)

After settling her big beast, Ajay headed to find someone to talk to, she was curious about a schedule of events, or anything she would need to know for lessons or anything. She set off looking for an instructor looking person.

Ramira Palmer | Dressage, Liberty, Horsemanship Instructor | Mars | M: Elliot

Remi, happy with her fresh and professional outfit, headed back to the barn, she planned to find some one to say hello to, she wanted to make some friends before the schedule for to crazy. Remi walked around exploring a bit, she wanted to be familiar with how to get around, for herself and so she could give directions. During her adventure Remi found a man furiously cleaning tack. "Hello," she started. "I'm sorry to interrupt, but I would like to offer my services." She paused for a second. "Tack cleaning that is, you seem to have a lot of it, I'm Remi by the way."

Leon Maxwell | Horseball, SJ, XC Instructor | Ivor | M:

Leon was mindlessly unpacking, he knew he would be sharing with at least one other person, so he kept his stuff pretty contained and in one specific location, as not to be in someone else's way. After topping off his water bottle, Leon was back of into the sunshine to check on Ivor.

Emmett Anderson | Reining, Cutting, W Pleasure Instructor | Zodiac | M:

Wandering back down to the stable, Emmett camped out in front of Zodiac's stall, unsure if what else to do. He checked the time, 11:42. He still had some time. Deciding that the stallion was settled enough, Emmett removed his leather halter and hung it with the lead rope on the hook.

Piper Lewis | 24 F| Eventing Rider
'Fable' 8 ch. Mare
'Rook' 11 blk. Gelding
Location: Barn | Tags: Open

She could feel her heartbeat pounding at the base of her throat as anxiety fueled adrenaline circulated her body. Her fingers curled tightly around the steering wheel as the navigation device called out the next step in the directions sending her off the main road and heading deeper into the countryside. Splashes of forest became dotted with country homes and cottages, soon giving way to longer stretches between residences, with a few parcels of meadow pastures breaking up the woods. She couldn't help but search the grassland for livestock, often spotting clusters of cattle or sheep in the distance.

Deep breath Piper! She mentally chided, it was just the next chapter in her life, that's all. No big deal - just potentially making or breaking her hopes and dreams if she found major success in the next year. Moss Grove Estate had been a huge step up in her goals of branching out as a young trainer and top level rider. Acquiring Fable and Rook had been a big stepping stone to creating her own competition string.

"Turn right in one thousand feet." A generic female robotic voice called out through the truck's stereo system, letting the twenty-four year old start preparing for the turn. Piper worked on slowing her simple rig down and smoothly pulled into the Estate drive. Following the grated dirt path as it switched to gravel and branched off towards the stables; she couldn't help but gush a moment at the mares and foals enjoying the day while frolicking in their pasture.

A rush of anxiety clenched her chest tighter as she saw the parking lot nearly at capacity with vehicles, trailers, horses and people rushing about. Hazel eyes were overwhelmed with so many sleek horses unloading from their transports, draped in vibrant rugs and shipping boots. Piper made the decision to grab the closest open space. Bringing the medium black pickup to a stop and shutting down the engine, the young woman headed back to the gooseneck trailer. Opening the man-door on the side she was able to check on her warmbloods in their box stall set ups. Red and black ears pricked at her and let out curious whickers, eager to see the new venue.

Settling her horses had been a lot simpler than some of her previous experiences. With all the stall assignments, equipment storage, and barn layout a click away on her phone in the lovely welcome package, Piper had been able to unload her horses with limited excitement. Rook acted like he'd done it a million times (which wasn't wrong) with eyes only for the lush hay bag tacked in his stall. Fable was her typical hot-headed self; she had the personality to fit her brightly colored coat and wanted everyone to know she'd arrived. Piper never recommended anyone to stand within twenty feet when the outrageous mare let out her piercing whinny. It took a few minutes of snorting, prancing, and even a rear before she danced her way into the barn. Fable took her time to calm down which only caused Piper's anxiety to skyrocket; stall walking, panicking screams, and pawing at the fluffy bedding. "You're fine Fable. It's okay sweets. This is home now." The young woman attempted to soothe the Holsteiner from outside the luxurious stall. Her thoughts were drifting quickly to - Please don't colic!

A quiet nicker from the stall next door pulled Piper away from the chestnut hot mess and over towards her steady-eddy mount. "Hey Rook," She crooned. "What do you think? It's fancy!" A muzzle snuggle with the gelding and she already felt better. She took the moment to really take in the new facility. It was sparkling clean - not even the usual dust motes dancing in the faint sunlight or cobwebs dangling in the corners. The sounds of many horses settling in to their stalls as well as riders talking or moving throughout the barn - carting various items from their cars or trailers. The entire atmosphere felt so electric and alive.

Leslie Mason | Reining Rider | Little Shiner Cat(Hannah) | M: Izzy

As Leslie turned down the winding road the truck was silent. The girls were too nervous to talk. How much longer do we have? It feels like we have been in this car for ages! Leslie thought while nervously looking back at the trailer. The hum of the radio and the gravel under the tires was the only sound for the next 5 minutes. The truck bounced over a piece of rock laying in the road. Shaking the truck and trailer.
"I wonder what the girls will think of Moss Grove." Izzy said quickly and quietly. She had finally found enough courage to speak.
"I'm not sure, Britain is very differen't from where we come from." Leslie said thoughtfully. Leslie could see the sign for Moss Grove Estates up ahead. Their truck slowly pulled down the long driveway, they heard horses whinny in the distance. Pulling into an open parking spot, Leslie commented with a chuckle. "No going back now" The two girls hopped out of the car and walked to the back of the trailer. They could her their horses munching on hay. Leslie quickly opened the trailer door and pulled Hannah out. Hannah calmly jumped out of the trailer looked around and pulled Leslie to the nearby grass. "Silly girl!" Leslie laughed.

Izzy Mason | Cutting Rider | Looking Smart(Socks) | M: Leslie

Socks, waiting patiently in the horse trailer nickered as Izzy walked in. Slowly opening the divider, Izzy gave Socks a pat and untied her. Once she was unloaded, Izzy and Leslie walked their two horses towards the grand stable. Wow, this is huge! thought Izzy. The two girls and two horses entered into the stable, the soft buzz of nickers filled the air. They made their way towards Hannah and Sock's new stalls that where located in the middle of the isle. "These horses are all so gorgeous!" Gasped Leslie.
"I know, I was just thinking the same thing!" Izzy said. The girls found their stalls and removed the blankets, shipping boots, and halters from their horses. Once finished settling their horses in, they started their way towards the student housing area.

Eli almost didn't notice the redhead entering the room , but was pulled from his task by her voice. He examined her quickly before replying.
" thankyou, that'd be great , I'm Elliot you can call me Eli though," He told her, introducing himself with a flashy smile. Carefully passing over a saddle a cloth and some cleaning stuff , he restarted in the tack he was holding. After passing the cloth over the same area a few times, he noticed a deep scratch in the stirrup leathers. Damn, that'd probably break if it had anymore pressure. He sighed, mildly annoyed, and began removing them
" i take it your one of the new instructors then? what d'ya teach?" curiosity took over and Eli began asking questions, partially to break the slightly awkward silence , and partially to make new connections.

A breath of fresh air is something Ophelia needed , her briefing was very soon and she needed to calm down from her whirlwind of cleaning. Her back was pressed against the outside wall of the riders lounge, hiding herself from the surprisingly warm sun. Eyes scanning her surroundings, she spotted a rather lost looking ravenette. She looked to young to be an instructor, so Opi jogged over to offer help
" Hey, what are you looking for? you look lost " She gave a welcoming and non-condescending laugh with her question.

How many horses could these stables hold? a lot , probably , he answered himself.Triggy spooked himself by stamping his feet jsut a little too hard in the polished floor
" oh my god, will you calm down trig, it was you who made that noise."
thsi was... embarrassing to say the least. Triggy was supposed to be a classy, well trained stallion yet he was behaving like a delinquent colt. Maybe it's the new surroundings. In somewhat of a strop, Aster pulled Trig along , ignore his head throwing , and stopped at his stall.
" Trigger happy"
'trig'
Was engraved in cursive on the mirror-like pewter plate, bringing a small smile to asters face. Trig had , at some point, stop throwing his head around like an angry stag , an was now nudging the bag of treats left on the hook next to the stall door. Mint flavoured horse treats. Aster gave in and fed him oen to calm him down, and put him into the stall, which , might i add was rather spacious.

Nicky lead pin out from the trailer , letting her admire the surroundings, though she didn't seem to infer in all honesty, probably thinking for was another show or something. He re-checked the email he was sent , telling him he was to put him in stable C stall 37 . The architecture of the buildings on the estate were truly something to marvel at, the intricate stone work is something Nicky was in awe of. Ikd buildings liek these alsways made him wonder how long it took to build them. His mare followed obediently after him, turning her head to look at things every now and then but never veering from his side. There was a pathway that connected the buildings , sort of like a web, it made it easy to get around and that he was thankful for.
Stable C
a sign read, sitting just to the side of the large rolling door. The slate floors were polished like a mirror, yet still kept some grip so people and horses wouldn't fall. Each stall was constructed of walnut timber, with engraved pewter name plates. Talk about fancy . Afte da minute or two of slowly admiring the interior, he stopped at Pin's stall . A bag of apple flavoured treats hung from a hook used to hold halters . Nikolaus smiled and grabbed them before letting spin settle into her new living space, and let her have one of the treats they'd been gifted.
