Adina|Mare| 4| Mated: No Adina had been watching him the entire time trying to give her friend the confidence he so desperately seemed to need... it was hard to believe that this strong and mighty stallion that stood on the bank above her was afraid of the water... but then again the fact that he showed her that fear made him even stronger in her eyes yet she had this drive and desire to help him conqure that fear... so when he went to the bit of land that dipped into the water and put his hooves in she'd continued speaking softly and encouraginly to him her voice nothing more then a soft purr in his ears. "Thats it" she said as she came up the bank stopping him before he went any deeper then his hooves. When he asked what he was doing there Adina simply smiled "You're conquring your fear one step at a time." she told him giving a small chuckle "Breathe sparrow." she said gently "I'm right here..." she assured him "I won't leave your side." she said gently "Don't you leave me." she said her eyes scanning his face as she let out an audible breath and inhaled again a more subtle reminder for him to breathe her ears pricking forward to listen for his breaths as the calm sounds of the forest swirrled around him just as the lightning bugs were. She wasn't charming him she was simply trying to help him deal with his fear... though she wouldn't ever push him to do more then he wanted. She guessed hoof deep was asking a lot of him already but she was proud of him for even just sticking his hooves in. "You're doing so well Sparrow... i'm so proud of you." she said gently nuzzling his neck a little with her soft silky nose "You don't need to step any further tonight... just stand right here with me." she told him cocking one of her back feet so only the tip was on the ground showing how calm and relaxed she was. |

He stood there for a moment closing his hues, the still water collecting just above his hooves, he thought about how he rushed into the waters to help her when she stopped breathing but.... where was that stallion now? Thick plumage floated on the surface as his hues peered back to her frame, her cooing words going in his ears one way and out the other. Nostrils flared as he rose his frame "No." he sighed almost frustrated as he lightly pinned his audits, forelock feel over his hues "I mean like... what am I doing here. This place.... US. I am nothing like you remember, I am not a protector, I'm nothing you will need. Here I am scared of the world that you thrive in" he let a long breathe escape him but little did he know, he had merged more into the water as he spoke his frustrations, slightly feeling the water rise up over his knees. He peered down some more, aduits perked a he almost looked shocked for a moment before souring his frame and looking away. He didn't know what this meant for him and Adina... friends... or somthing more... but, he didn't feel ready to be the stud she would need. If that ever came an option for him

Adina|Mare| 4| Mated: No Adina stared at him listening to his words "Sparrow..." she said softly though she silenced to let him finish her ears pinning back a little as she stepped out of the water her blue eyes ignited with a light fury as she flicked her tail "Have you ever thought that maybe you're EVERYTHING I need?" she snapped "You're right you're not the little colt that chased me down the length of the beach splashing in the waves of the water anymore... I'm not the same filly anymore either but that doesn't mean you're not what I need Sparrow." she snapped at him "Do you think i'm not afraid of the world YOU thrive in?!" she asked her tail whipping back and forth behind her, her muscles tightening with every word as she spoke "I am!" she told him "But i'm with you! I feel SAFE with you Sparrow... why else would I have said anything to you... or protected you or gone with you today if you didn't already have my trust... and before I didn't even know who you were!" she hissed "You think you can't protect me?" she said her sides and chest heaving "Then why not let that stallion take me today hm? you could have run off from him and left me there to be at his whim, but you didn't you stayed and you did in fact protect me." she told him her voice slightly gentler with and with more of a saddened undertone. "When someone needs your help you help them." she told him "You braved the ocean for me today and saved my life for a second time." she said "You underestimate yourself Sparrow... you're more then you think you are... I can see that, why can't you?" she said sadly before flicking her tail and turning away walking off vanishing down the pathway they'd come from. It hurt to hear him say those words... after everything he'd done for her today? she thought shaking her head. She knew why this hurt her so badly, she'd already begun to fall for Sparrow, but... it didn't seem like the feelings were mutual. When she reached the beach she waded into the water some until it was at her belly, she was questioning now weather she really had wasted the last 4 years of her life waiting for him to come back for no reason... and maybe that she'd loved him for longer then she'd even realized... No, no, he doesn't love you back, don't go getting attached to him now! she scolded herself as she lowered her head and listened to the waves as they rolled not only to her but past her, the sound relaxing her as she tried to clear her head. |

The stallion's frame shot back over where he was face to face with the heated mare, audits pinned as he tried to get another word out but, words kept flowing out of her mouth like a running faucet. He softly huffed as he was taken back by the words she spat out at him, he was shocked as astonished expression feel over his frame, as each words seemed to slap him in his face. He turned his body in the water, as it slushed around him as he followed her out of the waters. Drops falling from his legs and damp plumage as she spun around once more with clearly hurt fuming off of her. Audits pricked before pinned once more, as he took a step back, still not able to speak.
Brown hues blinked as she soon paced away from him and disappeared through the trees. He felt all this tension as he let out a sigh, aimming his hues towards the ground, narrowing them he cursed at himself before looking up "Adina!" he called out to her. But, for the longest time he stood there watching where she left, standing there dumb like a rock, guilty swallowing him as her words played over and over in his head again.
it felt like forever as if he was holding his breathe, he assumed she went back to the ocean, he felt like he really did it this time. Sighing once more, he slowly made his way back to the beach. Hooves slowly dragging over the terrian, audits swilved some as the night waves got louder the closer he got. Still beating himself up over it as he peeked through the trees...... and yet.... she was still here.
Audits softly perked as he stood quiet and hidden by the tree line, he watched as her grey coat shined under the moonlight, and how peaceful she stood in the coarse of the calm waves. Nostrils softly flared as he quitely paced towards her, a little unsure if he should but did anyway. Hooves pressing down with each step in the cool sands. He stood behind her, as his thick pumage swished behind him "I.. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings" he spoke, his brown hues staring at the back of her. Feeling a lump in his throat audits flicked back guilty "I just wish I could do what you want me to do.. and I don't know if I will ever be ready for that" as he peered down to the grounds "We are still strangers but, I do care about you. I just don't want you thinking I'm going to live up to the image of me that's in your head" he stepped closer to the waters, taking in the salty scent "I may never see myself like you do... but, I am who I am... I saved you because anyone that seen that as wrong would have helped you. I'm no hero, Adina." as his hues flicked to her frame "I know your scared of my world.... but, maybe we aren't..." but he allowed his words to pause. Of course, he felt something but, how could they ever make it?
(hah almost reminds me of the "Re-write the stars" song from the greatest showman. How the two characters wanted to be together but, one thought it would never work out but, the other wanted to risk it and try XD) Edited at April 2, 2021 09:22 PM by Whispering Wood Barn |

Adina|Mare| 4| Mated: No When she heard his voice she turned to him listening to what he had to say "How do you know if you don't try?" she asked tipping her head to the side "hm?" she said gently giving a small sigh as she shook her head and gave him a scoffing laugh "You don't know my mind Sparrow... you don't know what or how I think of you." she pointed out "Becasue I guarentee that what I think of you... is exactly what you are, don't presume to know my mind if you can't read it." she told him flicking her tail as she stepped onto the shore more looking over her shoulder at him "Thats why you're different Sparrow, not everyone would have done what you did for me." she told him "Your strength comes from your heart and your head... not your body." she told him "Thats what I see when I look at you... and thats what I hope you see one day Sparrow." she told him. "We aren't what...?" she asked a curious spark in her tone, her blue eyes lit up still by the (all beit dulled) fury, but now her curiosity as well "Tell me." she insisted. |

The stallion's hues locked to hers as she turned to face him, audits softly perked then fell normal as he looked to the ground and sighed "Meant to be...." he felt bad saying it but how could he hide it from her. "I mean how could we be?" he quickly spoke. "You waited for me all this time..... and I could have been dead. Think of the happiness you could be having right now.... a mate.... a family" as he stepped to her "I... I can't give you those things... there is my world and the ocean is yours..." he sighed. "I don't even know what you want from me, so tell me Adina" as he softly stomped a hoof "I don't understand why you waited for me..... why you ran from home.... why you are still here. Adina|Mare|4| Mated: No Adina looked at him listening and taking in every word. "I waited for you because YOU make me happy Sparrow... I couldn't tell you the last time I was happy before I met you." she told him "Becase I wasn't." she said gently "I wanted that happiness back and despite everything... you did bring that happiness back." she told him "I don't want a mate of my kind." she told him "That was never what I wanted, I distanced myself from the colts of my kind every chance I could get." she told him with a scoff "You're the first colt I'd ever approached of my own free will without my Dam and Sires cohersion..." she said flicking her tail with a snort "I didn't care if you were alive or dead... if you were dead i'd of figured it out eventually... but knowing you're alive... it means the world to me." she told him. When he told her he couldn't give her those things she shook her head "I didn't expect you to do anything right away... to be honest I didn't know how I was going to feel when I saw you again." she admitted "Relieved you're alive? yes... but do I expect anything out of you... I don't know other then the happiness you bring me as of right now you being here is enough... but i'm not going to lie... I believe that my heart belongs to you Sparrow... even if you don't feel the same or feel like you can't give it back to me... I can't lie to you, my heart belongs to you... maybe it always did." she told him "Maybe that's the bigger reason why I waited for you all this time... why I ran away from home... and why if I have to I will continue living here by the shoreline. If you don't feel the same then leave." she muttered "I won't stop you... but I can't go back to my old life now either way because I don't want it... I'll spend the rest of my days here on this shoreline." she told him "Leave if you want, but I waited this long... if you do decide to come back... I'll be here." she told him before turning away and cantering off down the beach and eventually into the water only to disappear underneath the waves. |

The stallion stood there almost petrified as emotions overwhelmed him as her words echoed through his skull like torture. Audits softly pinned, as his mouth dropped open as he tried to speak "I don't want to lea..." before nostrils flared as she shot more words back at him, he felt like he couldn't even get a breath in, as his muscles began to tence. Before he knew it, there was nothing but a flash of white as water sprayed up from the calming night waters and the mare was gone.
Slightly trotting after where she vanished a his hooves dug into the sands, nostrils flared as the salty water blew in from the night breeze, mane brushed against his skin as he flicked his plumage. "ADINA" he called out as his cry echoed across the beach, nothing but the palm trees making a sound in the night, he sighed as his frame dropped.
Hues softly closed as his audits flopped with another look to the ocean, the stallion paced away, down the beach...... looking for the mare? ..... looking for a place to lay, for the night. Edited at April 5, 2021 10:15 PM by Whispering Wood Barn |

Adina|Mare|4| Mated: No Adina could hear him from under the waves but she ignored him... if he wanted to leave it was better if she didn't watch him go, she knew that the hold he had on her would cause her to follow him... Meanwhile she was also scolding herself for admitting her feelings out loud... he was uncomfortable and wary enough of her she should have kept her mouth shut but it all just exploded... all those feelings and thoughts she'd been alone with for years finally had come out in an enraged manor... and yet she felt better, even if he didn't feel the same or was gone in the morning it felt better to finally get it off her chest and have him hear the words and feelings she'd been trying to push aside for years upon years. That night she curled up in a a beautiful oceanic garden on the seabed and slept... though it wasn't restful, she often found herself looking toward the surface, Would he still be there? she wondered, should she tell him she didn't mean it...? that she didn't want him to leave? No... No... she scolded herself let him make his own choice. she told herself. Once the sunlight poured through the surface Adina's blue eyes opened revealing the beautiful garden she'd nested in for the night, before long though she was racing toward the surface, toward the beach... she'd held back all night but she had to see, was he still there? Did he stay...? or did he leave her again? she wondered as she raced toward the surface that seemed miles away poking her eyes and ears above the surface and scanning the beach to see if he'd stayed... she desperatly hoped he had. |
