"How about you go? I don't see you trying to remedy this situation, or speak up about whatever details you know."

Sighing, and attempting to be calm and neutral-toned, Elise boldly proclaimed, "Both of you go, and I don't want you to come back until you have a medic and the beginnings of a friendship."

Shooing the pair off with a series of "buts" and other refutes, Elise put a calming hand on Scott's back, whispering quietly, "I'll leave you guys some space, but I'll be close by if you need anything."

She herself let a tear slip as she walked away, her own purposes and desires completely uprooted.

Katrina, on the other hand, looked completely frightened. She had no idea what the tears were for, but she knew she had caused them. She hadn't seen a grown man cry since...well, past traumas...

She wanted to hold him, but she was also completely terrified and still Katrina, who had one hundred past lives and enough skeletons in her closet to fill a cemetery. She wanted to squirm away and leave once more, now that the initial shock was turning into drowsy lightheadedness and a familiar anxiousness. To compromise, she stayed completely still, offering Scott a very weak smile.

Eli gave the most coldest glare to Elise as she shoed him and the other girl away. He didn't even know this chick's name and already couldn't tolerate her.

Scott wiped away the tears and sat up a little straighter. Now all he wanted to forget was how terrible he was for two years. He knew he'd have to tell her eventually but for now, he just left it well enough alone and returned Katrina's smile with his own but hints of sadness and regret hung in his blue eyes.

Rhynn let up for maybe a moment before pestering Eli once more. He wasn't cute, and he'd know her tomorrow, so she knew there wasn't anything to lose. "So, who's the dramatic dude to you? And why is he crying? And how does he know Kamila? He's not some creepy dude, right?"

Katrina, barely functioning emotionally nor physically, attempted to move her hand towards her head, but only ended up with it closer to Scott's hand. In a weak, raspy, thickly-accented whisper, she said, "I think this is the part where you tell me to stay with you, and then I die and you profess your love for me too late."

When she realized that might've hit too close to home, she added, "this is so dramatic..." It was obvious she was quite uncomfortable, especially with foreign passer-byers beginning to notice.

"He's my brother." Eli said curtly. "and we all used to ride at a different stable far from here. Also, creepy depends on your definition."

Scott chuckled, "Indeed it is." He said with a hint of laughter still. His emotional battle was coming to an end, and was ending on a good note. He looked back to the gash on Katrina's head. His expression changed to concern as he spoke. "We need to get that cleaned up." Scott said. "Don't need you actually dying on me, do we?" He added a chuckle at the end, his old charm coming back to the surface after being buried for two years.

Rhynn snickered to herself, glancing at her acquaintance from the corner of her eye. "I immediately regretting saying that. Yeah, he's for sure creepy. I've never seen a grown man cry like that. And I mean, I love Katrina, but she's not that great." With a sympathetic smile, Rhynn added, "I'm sorry you've spent your whole life stuck with that burden."

A foreign feeling warmed up Katrina's insides at a glimpse into her old life. He was being so kind, so considerate. Why did she leave him, again?

"I can get up on my own..." Long story short, she couldn't, and one attempt landed her flying backwards, with her frail, thin body far closer to her old coworker than she would have preferred. It was only now that she noticed how bad he truly looked, and she wondered what had happened to him. Besides for the crying, he couldn't have been affected by her that much. Could he?

"Tell me about it." Eli grumbled. His own childhood memories flooding to him too. He spent years living in Scott's shadow while their father favored his first born over Eli. The blonde could live his whole life without seeing his father again. He would even be fine if their father fell of the face of the Earth.

"Well, then me and Elise will help." Scott said. "Hey, Elise, could you help me stand her up?" He called out to her, completely oblivious to what the girl felt.

"It sounds like there's a lot more to this story than you tell people. I'm special, so you can tell me." Rhynn came off as slightly pushy, but with the best intentions...maybe...

Elise's general smile faltered. "Oh, uh, okay..." This was like a dream she wished she would wake up from.

Running over, Elise was a faithful friend to Scott in her assistance with Katrina. He looked so much happier, and she looked so...not.

Katrina noticed and began pondering her relationship to Scott. Obviously a lot had changed in two years. Were they just dating? Engaged? Married, even? Had Elise done this to him?

With little strength, Katrina began swaying again, her little body obviously far underweight. She looked quite sick, it was an obvious show of her poor life choices and how they haunt her. Weighing out her options, she leaned closer to Scott rather than Elise, her face clearly flustered as she clung tightly to his much larger frame. The height difference made her appear like a small child beside him.

"I'm...sorry...not...trying...make...things...awkward...er..."

Eli almost busted out laughing. "Yeah, you're certainly special alright." He said in a mocking tone. He knew what this girl wanted and she was going to find out real quick that she wasn't going to get it. Eli was too stubborn for that.

It saddened Scott to see Katrina like this. He assumed that she must have made some poor choices along her way as well. Hoping there weren't as many as he had. There were a few reckless action he did where he should have died...

Scott barely paid attention to Elise as he held Katrina tighter, not wanting her to fall. He chuckled "It doesn't bother me." Scott said softly.

Rhynn shrugged, a coy smile dancing in her eyes and on her lips. It was before long that they had reached a med tent, although perhaps not their licenced medic, they knew that the stand-in would be able to complete a suture or two. As the pair made their way back with the medic, Rhynn once again began chatting, this time completely and unconsciously ignoring Eli, and focusing on the young woman's life story.

Katrina felt limp in his arms, which was not the most incredible feeling, but she felt far more at ease with Scott holding her than a stranger. She dreaded having a conversation with him about anything related to the past, she always dwelled in the future, which may have been worse, but she knew that talk was inevitable. And there wasn't enough alcohol in the world.

She was truly back in the stage where words were only an abstract concept, so far out of reach for her mind in the midst of this chaos. Only ten minutes prior, the world was okay, and now it was crumbling beneath her. Yet, medically and physically, the list of things she could do about it were absolutely nothing.

Elise, obviously still pained by this whole encounter, kind of just paced along the sidewalk, trying as hard as she could to make sense of all this emotion. For once in her life, she felt something towards Katrina that was less than positive, and she didn't know what to do...

I think it's funny that Scott or Eli never once mentioned that they have a little sister xD)

The blonde walked along peacefully but had to focus on taking small steps or he would run right into Rhynn. She was a person that Eli wanted to avoid as much as possible. She was too mosey into people's personal lives for his liking.

Scott would occasionally say something along the lines of 'it's all gonna be alright' or 'almost there' while he walked Katrina towards Rhynn and Eli but otherwise stayed silent. He had to admit that it was a bit uncomfortable and strange seeing Katrina again.

Scott glanced over at Elise. She looked unhappy and that was unsettling. She was always bright and happy, trying her best to cheer him up on his worst days. Actually, her positivity had gotten him through the worst of everything. She was a great friend. "Hey, Elise-" Scott started but his words were cut short by his phone buzzing. "Uh.. hold that thought." He said taking the device out of his pocket (it was a bit difficult holding Katrina up). "Dang I forgot she was coming too."
