Sage chuckled lightly and shrugged. "Children are fun. And they're not as judgy as the adults. Usually." He shrugged and grinned. "And you think my brain works normally now," he snorted before wrinkling his nose. "My guy friend died and it was kind of my fault. I'm heasitant to get friendly with new people, because even if I do find someone else I can trust, I seem to be a walking disaster that brings bad thing with me wherever I go and to whoever I enjoy being around," he huffed. He was honestly nervous about gaining more friends....not just because it was immensely hard for him to trust someone, but because of what had happened with Luther.

Mari hummed softly to the boy before shaking her head. "What happened to Luther wasn't your fault, and you know that... it was an accident," she told him gently. She leaned in to peck his cheek and gave another little smile. "And I'm alright. Nothing bad has happened to me, and I'm around you quite a lot," she then added with an amused chuckle. "There are people out there that'll be kind to you, Sage... people you can trust. But you're never going to find them if you just stick around with everyone up here. I hate to tell you this Sage, but it's going to be so draining with a baby... I want you to have somewhere and someone you can go and do stuff with while I'm locked up here."

Sage hummed rather doubtfully but gave the girl a smile when she kissed his cheek. "Somehow," he murmured. "but I'm definitely glad about it." He wrinkled his nose slightly and shrugged. "I don't want you locked up in here with the baby all the time though, either," he pointed out softly. "Besides, I don't know how much more I can handle friends wise. I still have a tendency to break when like....your or the doctor do something nice," he admitted softly. "I just...maybe at some point, I'll look for someone, but I just don't know if I'm ready," he sighed.

Mari shook her head at the boy, a slightly amused smile across her face. "You're not bad luck, that's why," she hummed softly to the boy. "You're a lot easier to like than you think you are," the girl then added, "And I have plenary of people... I get along with most of the maids up here, so if I ever did need a break I always have someone to go do something fun with," she told him, not wanting him to worry about her at all. She took his hand and lead him over to the bed before plopping down gently. "You don't have to find anyone until you're ready... not until you feel like you're ready," she promised lightly.

Sage sighed and nodded. "I know ..just feels like I am bad luck sometimes," he hummed. He let the girl lead him over to the bed and plopped down with her, humming lightly and cuddling into her side happily. "Well yeah, I guess so," he hummed. "And I know that....I just don't think I'll ever be ready," he admitted with a slightly sheepish chuckle. "It seems like such a huge thing, to get a friend." He shrugged lightly and hummed happily. "I'll be happy enough when the baby comes for now though," he chirped. "And we'll be much busier than I think you realize for a while," he chuckled, remembering Lizzie and Att.

Mari hummed softly to the boy before shaking her head. "You've been the complete opposite of bad luck for me," she hummed gently. She meant it too... nothing particularly bad had happened since she'd met Sage. And now she was going to have a family with him... and that certainly wasn't a bad thing. She wrapped an arm around his side when he curled into her a small smile across her face. "Well, I suppose that for you it is a big thing. But you don't need to think about it too much. Just make more of an effort to talk to people. You'll find someone you like eventually," she hummed softly. She rolled her eyes at his next comment, though. "I've been working in the castle as a maid for about five years now. I've only started to work for the queen about two years back... do you know how many babies are born here?" She asked with a small laugh. "I know exactly how busy we'll be... but we can make it all work. And you will need a break once in a while to keep you sane," she mused lightly.

Sage chuckled lightly and hummed. "Maybe whoever or whatever is in charge of everything just decided to give me a break with you," he snorted, though he did have to admit nothing incredibly bad had happened since Luther's death, and that was quite a while ago. He hummed lightly and shrugged. "I suppose so. I just don't like talking to people," he chuckled rather sheepishly. "Except for my select few people I enjoy being with." Then he made a face in agreement and hummed, "true, though seeing it happen and doing it all yourself are pretty different." He leaned up to press a kiss to the girl's cheek. "I'll welcome the work though....raising Lizzie and Att was wonderful, but a child of my own is a while other kind of fun." Then he grinned. "And I'm already not very sane," he joked, though there was a bit of truth to it.

Mari chuckled lightly and shrugged to him. "Maybe your bad luck has come to an end. Maybe you're curse free now," she teased lightly. But he was never cursed... he just had a rough life. Everything that had happened was because of other people, and or him being in the wrong place and the wrong time. Hopefully, that had all come to an end, and things were all lining up for him now. She hoped so. "You need to learn to like talking to people!" She told him with a small laugh. "Otherwise when this kid is old enough, we're gonna send them to school, and I'm gonna make you drop it off, so you'll be forced to talk to the teachers and parents," she threatened in a slightly teasing tone. "I suppose that's true..." she huffed at his other comment. "I can't wait, though. We will be busy, but it'll be worth it," she chirped lightly.

Sage chuckled lightly at the girl's joke, humming in agreement. "Maybe you were my knight in shining armor, come to save me and break my curse and set me free," he joked, alluding to the fairy tales that had been around for...well, a while. He gasped at her next comment about making him talk to teachers and pressed a hand to his chest with a gasp in mock horror. "You wouldn't," he gasped in fake offense before breaking down in a grin again at her other comment. "Neither of us can wait," he admitted softly. "And I don't think the doctor can either," he added happily. The queen had seemed excited for them a bit too, so he wasn't sure if she'd want to meet the baby or not. But he definitely wanted to introduce it to Anya.

Mari hummed softly to the boy before huffing out a breath. "Maybe. Perhaps I saved you from an evil witch as well," she teased lightly before shaking her head. She grinned at his fake act of hurt and turned to press a light kiss to his lips and hummed softly. "Oh, Sage... you know I absolutely will," she told him with a grin. "And there's nothing you can do about any of it," she chirped in an overly emphasised happy tone. She smiled when he mentioned the doctor. "He's been wanting me to come and see him like every day," she mused before shaking her head. "I think he's more excited than either one of us."
