Anthea Moss | Female | 18 | Beginner | Mentions: Brooke.
Anthea followed her out like a puppy, she latched the gate behind her and Brooke and they entered the pasture that Florian was running around freely in. Taking the treat quickly she put it flat out on her open palm and held it out to him. She noticed the halter and with a slight jolt she was insanely confused, she grabbed it and fiddled with it, without realizing that the friesian was eating from her palm.
She got the halter untangled somehow, her hand had become freed of the horse biscuit and slid it over his wide face, slipping the top strap over his ears, she reached back and clipped the lead to the metal piece and looked to Brooke for guidance. "I think I did it right. Right?"

Brooke Camden | Assistant Manager/Student | M: Anthea

Watching Anthea as she gingerly placed the halter over the stallion's ears, she nodded at the girl's question. "Yes, you got the placement right. Just remember to use the clasp that's attached to the chin strap." Brooke moved around Anthea and now stood on her right side, next to Florian's shoulder.

She took the strap and used her thumb on the metal clasp to connect it to the halter. Tugging the material gently, her hand grasped the chin strap in demonstration. "See? Now the halter is secure and it won't slip over his ears." Halters give more space than bridles do, but hopefully Anthea got the gist of it from her brief explanation. She gestured for the girl to go back to the barn, and followed behind her to watch how she handled the stallion at a walk.

Catherine Bergman || M: Any, Alden
She spent an hour meticulously unpacking and organizing tack, grooming supplies, ribbons, and the like. By the end of the hour, she had a faint gleam of sweat on her forehead and the door of Tamlin's stall was a rainbow of silk ribbons. The dapple grey seemed please with the adjustments to his new home and he hung his head out of the door, stretching it to greet the outstretched hand of his girl. She had placed his tack on the edge of the door and a box of grooming supplies laid on the ground nearby, both to be used in a moment after she managed to find her room and unpack that aspect of her life.
After a quick trip back to the car to retrieve the personal bags she had dropped there and a look at the email with her room number and map of the property she made her way to the cottages.
The smell of Freshly cut grass flited on the wind and the stone path was damp with still drying dew from the morning. The property was buzzing with the activity of new students and distantly she swore she could hear a dog barking. She hadn't seen one when she had arrived but Catherine supposed another new student had brought one along.
Her room was easy enough to find and when she entered she was struck with the emptiness of it. The room was occupied by a small kitchenette, two extremely empty beds, twin dressers, and twin desks. All were freshly cleaned and gleamingly empty. Catherine dropped her bags on the floor and made a slow circle around herself to take it all in. She flicked on the light and got to work unpacking everything she owned which conveniently fit into two duffel bags and a rolling suitcase. Boxed riding boots were slid under the bed along with empty bags, the dresser was filled, the bed was made in white silk sheets (a moving gift from her father), her laptop was placed on the desk, and the few pictures she had were hung on the wall beside her bed in neat rows that were ordered by date (a small detail no one else would notice but made all the difference in her mind).
The sight was homely but desolate to Catherine as she re-examined the now filled left side of the cottage room. She tapped her fingers together before peeling off her clothes to change into a set of green breeches, a navy turtleneck, and dark mahogany dovers. It was simple enough to keep her cool but protect her from wind and any slight rain that decided to invade her time in the ring. She pulled the now wilting mess of curls into a low ponytail and chucked her phone on her bed before making her way back to the barn.
Tamlin left his stall easily, noting the tack on the door. He took the grooming easily and the tampering with his mane even better. Catherine made quick work of braiding the ivory mass before proceeding to tack up the gelding.
As she made her way through the process a stray earnet that had become hung in the polo wraps she grabbed slipped to the floor. She cursed under her breath and retrieved the green fabric from the ground. She left Tam (annoyed) in the cross ties as she made her way to the tack room to place the fabric back into her tack box where it belonged. To her surprise, the space was occupied by the sightly older brother of Brooke. Alden, his name had been? She offered him a smile before making her way to the tack box covered in German flags and gold paint that delicately spelled "Bergman". Her sister had painted it for her ten summers ago when she got it for the first show circut she ever went to. Placing it neatly net to the other contents of the box she relatched the wood before turning to the ebony-haired male.
"Your name is Alden, right?"

Anthea took the lead, carefully switching hands to her dominant right hand and firmly hand on, she tugged a little and started walking to the gate. Florian, stood behind her and started walking obidently behind her, she opened the gate and walked out. She patted his neck. "Good boy." She praised him for not killing her. She walked calmly, looking back at Brook many times too make sure she was doing it right.
They approached the barn and we're soon inside, taking a turn through the entry and found Florian's stall. "What now? Do I have to tack him?" She said a little worried. "I don't know how." She asked skidding her left shoe on the concrete floor of the barn, twiddling her thumbs and some would say.

Alden Camden | Student | M: Catherine, Anthea

Once his sister had left with one of the new girls, he was pretty sure that it was Anthea, he got to the task of grooming the two horses that continued to bicker between themselves as he worked. Leaving them both practically sparkling after his brush down, he went back into the tackroom to retrieve their girth's and saddles. He placed his black leather dressage saddle onto his left arm, the girth wrapped over the seat, and then grabbed his sister's show jumping saddle with his right arm.

The tall male hadn't even noticed the arrival of another person in the room until he heard his name. His head turned towards the feminine voice and his eyebrow quirked at the female in front of him. She was slightly shorter than his sister, with honey brown hair and a youthful appearance. He nodded at her question and adjusted his grip on the saddles while he spoke. "Yes, and you're Catherine." Since they were stating the obvious, he just blurted it out without thinking.

Only then realizing his bland tone, he hoped that she realized he was only joking and coughed uncomfortably at his stupidity. He had to remember that these people didn't know him yet and didn't want his sister to berate him if he upset Catherine.

Brooke Camden | Assistant Manager/Student | M: Anthea, Others

She was pleased with how Anthea was easily taking to walking her new horse. The stallion seemed to be very forgiving in any small mistakes that she made, and Brooke thought to herself that Florian was perhaps a good match for the new rider. She normally would never recommend a stallion for beginners, but she would keep a close eye to ensure the girl's safety while at the barn.

When they arrived at his stall, Brooke listened to Anthea's question and shook her head. "Lessons start tomorrow for the new students, so you don't need to tack him up today if you don't want to." She assumed that the girl saw her tending to Red and thought that she would be riding as well. "If you do, I won't be able to help you until after my lesson with Joslyn." Brooke looked to her Apple watch that laid neatly on her left wrist. "Which starts in ten minutes, shit. I have to go."

She turned on her heel to jog down the aisle, before suddenly remembering something and said to Anthea, "Ask another student if you need help!" Brooke hoped that the girl wouldn't get into trouble while she was getting to know the stallion. Fingers crossed that he was bomb proof, though chances were that that was unlikely.

"And youre Catherine."
She chuckled and sucked a breath in through her teeth. He didn't say much which Catherine appreciated, she didn't say much either. She nodded her head in reply, taking in the two saddles the other held. A glance into the aisle outside displayed the homes the leather was about to find and she smiled before tapping a hand against her thigh.
"Yes, well I will leave you to it then Alden." She needed to learn the name, memorize the face that went with it. She didn't want to throw him off or make him uncomfortable with her stare and so she broke her gaze away from him and turned towards the door. From the bustle of voices and horses, she knew there would be a hundred more names and faces to memorize before the next lesson tomorrow and the thought of it filled her stomach with lead.
"Does this not overwhelm you at all, all of these new people at once?"
She threw over her shoulder before thinking about it.

Anthea nodded, Tomorrow. She was excited but also terrified. Who's Josyln?.. "Okay! Bye, thanks!" She watched her run off, assuming to get her own horse. It was midday, noon now. She looked at the stall and slid open the door, walking in Florian, she unhitched the lead and shut the door. She hung it on the stall door, then slid the halter off, tossing it on the door too. She sat down on a half of a hay bale that was in the corner, soon realizing she should've brought her book or art supplies. The stallion would be something awesome to draw. She admired him was she ate the hay in his manger, feeling tired she managed to get some shuteye, falling asleep in the friesian's stall.

Alden Camden | Student | M: Catherine

He took note of her gaze that suddenly diverted from his face to her surroundings and was halfway through the doorframe when she asked her question. His footsteps paused, and the heel of his boots squeaked at his sudden stop. Pondering her words, he simply responded with, "Photographic memory helps. I'm used to meeting new faces, and I only remember names of people that are worth it." His green eyes met hers as he spoke before breaking his gaze and striding to the grooming stalls.

Brooke showed up after he had finished adjusting the tightness of Chance's girth, jutting his chin towards her mare to signal that she was all set. His sister carried her favorite dark brown figure-eight bridle, which matched her saddle, girth, and dark green saddle pad perfectly. Alden could have rolled his eyes at his sister's need to keep things matched at all times, yet he would be a hypocrite if he did.

He looked at the finished product of all of the work that he did in ten minutes. The black bridle on the seal bay's head had a white browband, for show, and complimented his saddle and white dressage pad nicely. Sighing through his nose, he had to scold himself for becoming more like his sister.

Keelan O'Brian | Western Instructor | M: Unsure, just someone

Dan obliges to the subtle nudge as Keelan steers his mount towards the center. The horse slows to a stop, once more the nudge and gentle movement enough to send him spinning, quite literally. Dan starts off slow, eventually ending at a desirable speed until he stops, Keelan's free hand acting as a brace on the horse's withers. He grins and pats the animal, voicing his praise before setting off the other direction, repeating his process. They ran through a few more moves, ultimately just happy to be settling well and able to be in an evironment where they can both progress. By the time the pair finish their post travel exercise, many had cleared from the barn. Keelan leads his patterned pony towards the closest cross-ties, placing earbuds in to keep from being distracted and help his focus. The stud stands calmly, enjoying the attention despite his owner's lack of listening skills at the moment. As the brush glides over Dan's rump, Keelan looks up to see Brooke and what seemed to be a student leading a rather large horse. He waves in greeting although it wasn't seen.

Dan leans forward against the ties, peeking around enough to watch the girl and horse as he was pampered. Keelan re-braids the horse's mane before once more placing him in his stall. He nods at a pair tacking up horses as he passes, heading back towards his truck. He uses the tire, leaning over the side of the bed to grab a bucket full of feed, seemingly pre-made during the journey here. He strides back happily, tossing in a few peppy steps and spins as whatever tune playing takes over. Keelan greets the horse with a pat, hanging his bucket inside the stall. The horse doesn't wait very well and impatiently sticks his nose in the bucket, munching away. With his horse exercised and fed, the man makes his way back to his truck, this time to gather his things and move into his new home.
