My biggest advice for wisdom teeth is eating cold foods like ice cream, apple sauce, pudding, smoothies, etc and avoiding straws like the plague. Also dont make the same mistake I did and not be aggressive enough with flushing the sockets out lol. Almost got dry socket because I was being TOO gentle 🤣

Yeaaahhh Eury. I am still waiting to hear from insurance on how much I pay out of pocket for this. Last I heard at Drs office it was 475. But I plan on calling the hospital doing the surgery to see if it has changed.

Honestly, the worst part of the whole thing was the fact that my insurance lapsed and I had to pay out of pocket for my meds at the pharmacy while half stoned from the anesthesia

If you can - drink a ton on pineapple juice the day/ night before & the day after it's done. Something in the juice helps with the swelling/pain & makes u heal up faster

I had 8 teeth taken out at once last year (all 4 wisdoms & some broken teeth next to them). I was soooo scared but tbh once I was healed up I was sooo happy to no longer be in pain that the bad teeth caused.

Ryker | 22 | Mentions: Brooke - Slightly Keelan
He couldn't help but give a big smile, *Actually yeah, I would love to discuss this further. Honestly ma'am, the pay you offer was more than I even expected. I really hope to be a good fit here.* he said before sliding down off his truck bed, careful to not spook the mare as he done that before to a mare. His grandpa had a bay mare, oh the devil she was. He was grooming her and sneezed; that mare reared and almost smacked Ryker in the head.
-
He shivered at the memory before blinking a couple times to look back to Brooke. When he was about to speak, he saw another man walk by then disappear into the barn. Alrighty then.

Brooke Camden | Assistant Manager/Student | M: Ryker, Keelan

Brooke followed the man's line of sight and spotted Keelan toting luggage, presumably back to his studio. She gave him a small wave in return to his greeting, then her attention returned to the dark haired male still sitting on his truck. "Sounds good! Follow me." Switching her grip on the reins, Brooke used her left heel to nudge Red in the direction of the left barn. While they were in their slow pace she remembered something. "I'm sorry, I don't think I caught your name?" She looked back at him curiously, awaiting his response.

Alden Camden | Student | M: Heather, Others

As he untacked Chance from a rather... eventful lesson, Alden saw Heather caring for her gelding, and this time noticed the dog that accompanied her. He watched the German Shepherd interact with his surroundings, he then thought to himself that maybe one day he'd have a dog of his own. The dog looked well behaved from the brief tricks that Alden was able to catch sight of. He hummed to himself before returning his attention to his impatient gelding. Alden now grew curious of how the other students were fairing on their first day.

Joslyn | Stable Manager/Instructor | M: Keelan, Others

Joslyn stood in the driveway now, lost in her thoughts as she listened absentmindedly to the quiet sounds of crickets and student chatter in the barns. She saw some of them milling around and would smile at those that passed her. The golden haired female took notice of a man that sat on top of one of the fences, a cup of something hot in his hands.

Not sure if she was welcome or not, she walked up behind him, unsure with her footsteps. The normally confident woman was beaten down today because of her emotions, and she was subconsciously seeking comfort from a stranger. Joslyn had guessed that this man was Keelan, and hoped he wouldn't mind her presence when she suddenly spoke. "Nice view, isn't it." Her steel grey eyes took in the sight of the property, flat grasslands covered in fences that disappeared in the shadow of the distant mountains.

Keelan O'Brian | Western Instructor | M: Joslyn

Distracted by his own thoughts and the slow creeping darkness, Keelan hadn't heard the woman approach. He looks over quickly, his startled attitude disappearing quickly, "Yeah. You've got a nice spot here." He pats the rail, an offer to join him. The man holds out a spare travel mug, a refill in case he went through what was in his regular cup, "Just warm tea. I feel it the best remedy after a tough day."

His voice is quiet, southern accent not quite as noticeable as he glances to the woman "Joslyn, correct? I noticed you from your rather charming pictures on the website." He finally takes in a good look of her. She seemed so different from the pictures and online articles, more human. Unlike her pristine look online, she seemed a mess and strangely didn't make Keelan feel self conscious about himself for once. Joslyn seemed to need comfort, her voice and haphazard appearance reflecting just enough that something had happened, "Want to talk about anything? You seem like you could use it."

Joslyn Arnell | Stable Manager/Instructor | M: Keelan

Accepting the invitation to join him, she hopped nimbly onto the fence and adjusted herself until she was comfortable. Her nose crinkled at the tea and she gave a small smile. "Could never get past the smell of tea, though my mum would have my head if she heard me say that." Without knowing, her British accent slipped through at her lighthearted joke, hinting at her London origins. She chuckled at his comment on her given profile on the Belle View website. The pictures on there were far from catfishing, she was usually well put togther in fine clothes and styled hair.

Joslyn's rugged appearance suddenly dawned on her. She gingerly took one of the buttons of her plaid shirt inbetween her fingers and absentmindedly played with it. "Yes, I am definitely Joslyn. Keelan, I presume? Nice to make your acquaintance."

She sniffled and rubbed her nose with the back of her hand, then registered his question. "Ah. I do look quite pathetic today, don't I?" Her voice came out raspier than she intended, a product of all of her crying today. Hanging her head into her lap, she brought her knees up and wrapped her arms around them in comfort.

Steel grey eyes peered through golden brown hair as she observed the landscape in thought. "I lost someone very close to me this morning..." A heavy sigh went past her lips and it took everything in her not to break into tears again. "She lost her battle with cancer."

Keelan O'Brian | Western Instructor | M: Joslyn

He sits quietly as she speaks, taking a moment to think about his words, "I'm not sure how much sentimentalities are worth, but I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sure she was an amazing person."

He pauses, again to think about his words, "My great-grandfather had a saying before he started his ranch. He would always say 'Don't linger on the inevitable, remember the assured.' It sounds harsh and maybe a little strange, but in respect to your situation, that's all you can do. If you linger on the loss, the pain of remembering what was good about the person will only hurt so much more. It's about letting go, yet keeping them in your mind so they aren't lost. Look at what they have built. An astounding woman that has gone on to teach that same love and perseverance to her students, and continues to do so."

He smiles a bit, a side swept motion of embarrassment quickly covered by his drift in attention to the scenery, "Sorry. Rambled a bit, and I'm not even certain it made sense. Just remember that you can fall on those around you, and I'm sure they are more than willing to care for you as you have for them. Cherish the bonds you still have." He gives Joslyn's hand a comforting squeeze before returning his grip to the cup.

By now the sounds of the wildlife had quieted, a peaceful hush overtaking the now-darkened fields. Barely visible silhouettes of grazing horses sat amongst the deep purple sky, starry flecks illuminating what was left of the horizon. The slow melodic buzz of crickets soon covered the quiet, and small flashes from fireflies lit the grass, "How about I give you a task. For everything you loved about this person, catch a firefly and add it to a jar every night until you are ready to let go, then release them. Or a leaf or their favorite flower, just something tangible to represent them. I've found symbolic goodbyes such as that help so much more since you can reflect and truly allow your mind to accept what has happened."

He chuckles to himself, "Great. I've turned into a philosophical old man. I'm not saying you have to, just consider it. I'm always here to listen." With that, he clambers over the fence, dropping on the other side with a goodnight smile as he heads towards his studio.

Ryker Jameson | M: Brooke
*Oh it's uh Ryker. Ryker Jameson.* He said and rubbed the back of his neck, a bit embarrassed for not speaking his name earlier. Usually he was very good with introducing himself, but maybe it was because he was new to town. Once he was more established, it would get easier for him. In all honesty, he needed to work here. He would be close to home, to Akuma, the pay would help him keep his cabin, and plus... he could learn a thing or too.

Sadly, a thought still loomed in the back of his head... his given medical history of his outbursts. He did have anger problems and he could thank his wonderful mother who did ... ... ... He closed his eyes and stayed back for a second before snapping back from it. Catching back up, he goes and meets her where she said they would be going.

Anthea Moss | Female | 18 | Beginner | Mentions: Mostly All.
|
Anthea woke, she rubbed her eyes, wondering where she was, after all she was in a barn, with a huge stallion, in a strange place, without her dog. She felt panicky till she realized she was safe, remembering where she was, then feeling alone. Haste dripped over her, her cheeks felt puffy, she hopped off the hay bale, hastily grabbing the halter and slipping it over the friesian's wide face, then getting the lead and clipping it to the halter. She opened the gate wide open and walked him out, she could see the sunset, or would would be one in a half hour. She swiftly brought him to a barrel, stepping on it to hoist herself over the stallion, she locked herself in after a few seconds, then kicked her sneakers soles into his flanks lightly, she had definently watched to many horse movies.
She was boucing uncomfortably, it wasn't that different from riding a bike, though it was definitely much bumpier, but his back wasn't that far off from a bike seat, her ass was use to that. She rode him quickly past Brooke, realizing she definently looked like a noob doing this, straightening his stride, she managed to get him to a canter, the swift gait was sealing the tension in her mind, she felt free, her eyes stinging, Axel would've been right beside her and Florian. Her eyes dispersed of the salty secretion, she burst into tears, her face looking puffed up and contorted, she started bawling, she was homesick for sure, pulling the stallion's mane a little, she managed to slow him down, before settling into the fetal position to let out her tears, he came to a stop, facing west, not far off from Joslyn and Keelan, she didn't care if they heard, she had a right to miss her home and her dog! She rubbed her face with her hands and continued crying as the sun fell lower and lower, the sky to the east became dark, she, with red eyes, watched the colors grow more and more bright, she thought about her sister, obviously a mistake, she cried harder and leaned into Florian's mane.

Catherine Bergman || M: All
She noted many things on her way back up the property drive. Noted two figures perched atop a trick bed, a dark stallion moving swiftly by, A girl and her dog practicing tricks, she noted Alden atop a handsome gelding and Brooke speaking to someone she had not recognized from earlier. She led Tamlin past them all in a gentle trot, his ears lazily picking up their words and eyes meandering over their actions.
She could feel the exhaustion taking root in her bones and knew that the next day would be an early one so she urged Tamlin towards the barn and ignored those around her. The grey gelding shook his head beneath the reins as she brought him slowly to a crosstie and dismounted. The girl was methodical in untacking and grooming the dappled prince as he leaned into her every touch and drooped his head, readying for a long-awaited rest.
By the time she was done she too had a sag to her posture and could feel her eyes growing entirely too heavy to continue functioning normally. The brisk fall air was dropping cooler and cooler and suddenly she wished she had worn more than just a turtleneck.
When her tack was re-placed in the tack room and wiped down to free it of any dirt that may have clung to it she returned to her awaiting steed and replaced his bridle with a handsome leather halter. It was the show halter that matched her tack set, the ebony leather was embellished with burned primroses across the noseband and a metal nameplate up the side adorned with Tamlin's name. She hated using it for barn use but had forgotten the well-loved brown leather one somewhere in the barn in her haste to get out hours prior. Catherine made a mental note to come to look for it in the morning when her mind was fresh and her eyes weren't so heavy.
After she put Tamlin to bed and bid her farewell to him and anyone in the aisle she made her way back to her room for a shower and a change of clothes.
She had forgotten how lonely it was.
Her side was homely and peaceful but the barren space to the right felt like a hole in the chest. In an effort to remedy the look she placed some extra pillows and a throw blanket on the bed, she even moved some polaroids to the wall opposite of hers to make it seem more like a couch than an empty bed waiting on someone to get back.
A quick shower and a change into her pajamas had the honey blonde looking to her bed where her phone had sat untouched for hours on end. As she moved the covers aside and bedded down in them she checked the iPhone.
1 Unread message
' Vati...3 hours ago '
She sighed and buried her head into her pillow. The girl ran a hand across her tired eyes as she opened the message only to reveal a picture of her father in front of a sign that read
"Virginia is For Lovers!"
With a great red heart standing in place for the 'O' in Love. Catherine huffed a sigh and placed her phone on charge by the bed before rolling to her side to face the wall. It was still early enough that the setting sun peeked through the sheer curtains of her room and cast long shadows on the polaroids she left on her side of the room. Staring back at her were the steel grey eyes of her sister, the soft green of her mother and brother, the unrelenting glare of a Pony whose name she couldn't recall and the countless laughing faces of friends she had made along the way.
It was early she knew to be going to bed but somehow looking at the pictures wore her out even more and she decided that her first day at Belle View had been a good one and it was time for her to rest.
